I've written off online dating sites until reading the threads on it here. I'm kinda inspired to see what I can pull off in this arena. I want to keep my true ID on the DL for 3 reasons:

1) I live in a smallish town (~150k pop) and work for one of the larger employers
2) Don't want my #1 or #2 (or their friends) finding it too easily
3) Wanna keep my true age/true ID on the DL from the above

So if those who have it dialed have some suggestions to accomplish this please divulge.

How should I handle my photos?
Which sites a better for this?
Any setup tweaks to help stay incognito?

I don't know much about the pay sites, but I know OKCupid and Plenty of Fish. POF has a setting where your profile won't come up in searches, so that's easy.

OKC is harder, because they don't have an incognito setting. You can temporarily deactivate your profile. One possibility is to send out a bunch of messages at once, see what numbers you can pull from whoever replies, and then shut down your profile for a while. Other than that you can keep your face out of your main pic and make yourself not easily identifiable in the others. That's going to send red flags to a lot of girls, which is a problem because girls are mostly looking for any reason to disqualify you online.
