Next move in this text thread?
Yo dudes, I have a question here that I hope someone can help me with. I met a cute bubbly brunet the other day at the grocery store. We were in line and one of the magazines at the checkout had a picture of a women in a truly ridiculous bathing suite. The girl was standing in front of me in line and when I saw her check me out I casually pointed to the magazine and said the first thing that came to mind, "I'm in the market for that bathing suite, know where I can find one?" She laughed and the conversation went from there. When it came time for the number there was some slight resistance but I got it we agreed to "meet up" next week.

Here's the text message thread that went down today. I'm confused on where to go from here because agreeing to her bullshit request to "play it by ear" is just setting myself up for a flake, but trying to force her into setting a date is needy behavior. You dudes have any suggestions?

Me: hey it's GrupStar, how was your weekend?

Her: It was excellent, how was yours?

Me: Other then the Sunday rain it was outstanding, got to see a lot of friends. Let's grab a drink on Wed or Thursday

Her: Fer sure. Well, I'll prob be free tomorrow night and maybe wed night... Lemme know when ya wanna go

Me: Wed Night would be good, 8:30?

Her: Actually, I get off work around 830 on we and then have a couple of errands i have to get done, but I'll let you know

Me: no worries, how about 9:30?

Her: Let's play it by ear? I'm not trying to blow you off, but I really have no idea when I'll be done wednesday and I don't want to give you a time and then not be able to stick to it.

Not sure how old you are but I would recommend against texting for anything other than logistics (i.e. meet me on the corner of Euclid and 10th in 15 mins).

Otherwise, just pick up the phone and call. Makes impact. Even biologically, hearing a male voice gets the cylinders running in a girl's head.

You're trying to force the meet-up too much, and she's not sure yet. Simple as that.

That's why I advocate bull-shitting and playing her stupid text games for a day, then the next day start up again and make your plans. Or you could go 'old-school' like G and HC, but if she doesn't answer that first call or respond to your voicemail, it's: Game Over.

RE: Next move in this text thread?
What I probably would have done.

Me: How was your weekend? (could get cocky here but its not needed. I wouldn't tell her its me, she should know who the hell I am)

Her: It was excellent, how was yours?

Me: Epic. Drinks on Wed?

Her: Fer sure. Well, I'll prob be free tomorrow night and maybe wed night... Lemme know when ya wanna go

Me: Will do. Get some nice clothes ready. (I stole G's high heels and skirt line a couple times, but I only use it depending on how tall the girl is originally)

Then your done. Dont respond to another text. Call her Wednesday around 6 to set something up for around 9ish. If she bails, she bails.

Short, sweet, to the point. Display your personality in person, not with stories via text.

God'll prolly have me on some real strict shit

I'm with AntiTrace on this one, especially:

RE: Next move in this text thread?
Your mistake was texting her with another time after she said she'll "let you know". Correct move:

"Her: Actually, I get off work around 830 on we and then have a couple of errands i have to get done, but I'll let you know

Me [1 hour later]: Cool"

Hey guys, thanks for all the good advice. Definitely shouldn't have pushed for the meetup time. Anyway, she actually texted me with the flake text later in the night... I didn't respond and might go with Roosh's restart text technique in a couple of weeks. In the mean time.... NEXT!
