Can dreams be interpreted? Some say they mean nothing, some use the scientific method give the dream meaning.

I had some strange things happen last night.

At one point I was urinating in public at this football stadium and two girls were following me around watching me.

Then I received a text on my phone that said "March 1, 2012 Denver Colorado"

I told a person to call my phone and as it rang in my dream my actual phone started ringing and woke me up. I look to see who is calling me and it said private number, I answer and some automated voice starts talking to me.

Here's a general idea:

Urinating in public, especially considering the two girls watching you, probably represents a lack of privacy in some sort of personal matter and you're trying to mark your territory, set boundaries.

The text messaging represents your group of friends and connections. The text can also represent a message from your unconscious.

I gleaned this info from dreammoods.com and actually had a similar dream (urinating in public) at a time when when some people were really trying to get in my personal business. Of course, everyone's situation is different. Some people think dream interpretation is wack, but I don't care because our mind doesn't shut off when dreaming. If there's a dream I remember I make a note of it and check it against dreammoods. Dreams can bring to the forefront shit we didn't even realize was a problem.

My brothers wife is always telling him about the dreams she has at night. It annoys the shit out of him.

If I am with a girl long enough for her to start doing it, it annoys the shit out of me.

I think the mind has to sort out a lot of random data and associations to give us relevant conscious memories - like a search engine and keywords sifting through the data collected. Some make sense, some don't. Many are topical to present time.

I wouldn't put too much stock into it, but that's me.

Check out the dreammoods.com website Baldwin mentioned. Its uncanny how you can interpret a dream using it, your unconscious does communicate to you even though you cant understand it half the time. I recommend instead of just trying to interpret weird dreams or dreams with coincidences like you had, buy some ZMA and start taking it every night. Make a habit of writing every detail you remember about your dreams and try to interpret then using dreammoods.com. The date 3/1 is a jewish holiday celebrating the birth and death of moses. Its also a full moon night, and it is the day the spanish inquisition began.

I like to write and have kept a journal for as long as I can remember. I keep the journal notebook close to my bed. The journal's not specifically for dreams, but every once in a while there'll be some 3 AM chicken scratch writing with the main points of a dream. I use that information when I look at dreammoods.com during the day.

Last night I had a bad dream that I was stuck in a crocodile infested mansion in southern California with celebrity comedian Bill Maher. I had also recently failed a high school math test recently, for some reason - despite having already graduated from undergrad and masters.

In my dreams, Bill Maher is a pussy and can't keep his shit together around some crocodiles.

I think nightmares are linked somewhat to indigestion of junk food or fatty meats eaten right before bed.

@YoungmobileglobalI/kickboxer I recommend you do your own interpretation, you may have your own interpretation completely different from what we may take as a literal interpretation from dreammoods. For example some details you may not have thought as important suddenly pop up as you say "hey thats relevant."

For example my dream last night was about a bunch of kidnapped babies and me helping the kidnappers and ultimately trying to save the babies. If you try interpreting it from that description youll miss a lot of details such as me communicating in a different language with the parents, the fact that the parents were from africa, etc. I left all those details out at first until I started to dig deeper.

I second DreamMoods. By looking up the symbolism in your dream you should be able to figure out what's going on with your subconscious mind.

I do, I even made a little Dream Journal application long time ago, I still have it but has quite a few bugs.

I recommend everyone who is interested in increasing their dream recall, to keep a dream journal, and write everything you can remember from your dream everyday that you wake up. You will be amazed by how much you will be able to recall when you keep doing this.

I also recommend an app called Dream Journal for apple devices.

I've been having strange, scary dreams where I wake up real fast. I always tell myself that ill write it up in the morning, but of courise I forget everything in the AM. I got a journal today and will start this experiment. What has everyone learned from their dreams?

Last night, I dreamed I ate a HUGE marshmallow. I woke up this morning and my pillow was gone. Weird.

I'm getting into this this year. Started maintaing a journal a couple weeks ago. Lucid Dreaming is the goal.
