Maybe guys relate to the 4HWW because the only work they'll ever do is 4 hours of chores every week. Because their mommy makes them to.

I haven't even read any of Tim Ferris's work, but there are guys making dope cash from SEO and Internet Marketing.

It's just like "Game", most of the guys who start it fail because they're not consistent and they don't know what they're doing (don't know how to build traffic or write content well in this context). But for the guys who do make it and there are a few of them, you'd be very surprised by how much they make.

Search Engine Optimisation.

Truth is, most people make very little from internet marketing or SEO at all. A lot of dreamers, fakers and scammers trying to pretend that Internet Marketing is the new rockstardom. You can make money doing it, but its certainly not a four hour work week.

Thanks Kitsune. Is that a Japanese name?

Anyways, I'm looking for a mentor in internet marketing, affiliate marketing, or some other similiar "ruse"

How does Tim Ferris make his money? Just selling books?

Forget Internet marketing. Get a real job or build a real business. Internet marketing is a waste of time.

How's it a waste of time?

For us younger cats its perfect, a side gig that can make thousands of dollars and teach us business fundamentals as well as skills that employers kill for.

ITs not a 4 hour hour work week, and it requires a lot of work to get good like anything else but because its such a rapidly changing and evolving space there's plenty of space for newcomers to do well.

Anybody who succeeds in IM can diversify his income to other business sources. The skills learnt can be transferred to any business.

People who say Internet Marketing is a waste of time have looked at the surface at all the newbies failing and the scammers selling shitty products. Look deeper. It took me around 7-8 months to really figure out how shit works and I wasted a lot of time but in the end it was worth it because I'm building a nice side income and I can buy my own shit and go on my trips.

That is true. But there's certain strategies that work for sure if you follow them and are intelligent about them. Show me a guy who works 30 hours a work in IM for a year and doesn't build a solid 3-4k income minimum and I'll show you a guy who listens to too many gurus or is an idiot.

Guys who learn how the IM ecosystem works can make a lot of money. But its all about looking past appearances and spending a lot of time researching, testing and failing.

Build a real business.

There is plenty of space for newcomers? So what? There is plenty of space for cashiers too worldwide.

If you wanna be wealthy then forget about doing internet marketing. Build a real business.

You may want to say that to thousands of guys who made lots of money doing work online. Its obvious that this works and many people are making money out of it, Steven Pavlina was making in 2008 (not sure about the year but im sure he is making way more right now) 40 thousand dollars a month, some guys are making way more, some little bit less, internet is a new thing and many generations to come will become rich thanks to the internet, so it cant be that bad.

Shit, you must be one of the MikeCF clones who think that 40k a month is nothing. Thats baller status enough to buy custom suitss, dine at the finest places, travel anywhere, and do whatever the fuck you want. How much are you making a month, by the way? You can't talk unless you're making 100k a month since 40k is so little. If you do make that much, please tell me how old you are.

G, would you agree? 40k a month is pretty much baller status.

There are plenty of guys banking of IM, its not impossible to get a monthly income of 40k-50k a month if you are hard working, smart, and ambitious. That means having real business knowledge and expanding your skillset in any way possible.

Its absurd that people think a business isn't "real" if its on the internet.

RE: International Playboy essentials
Steve Pavlina made that money a long time ago, back when Adsense wasn't saturated and blogs still made money. The comparison is like me saying 'Start a steam railway business; people made billions doing that.' The internet moves very quickly in comparison. You might make $5 a day using Steve Pavlina's strategy now.

I'd slightly echo what was said above, you sohuld get into real business. But with the caveat that earning money from the internet isn't worthless, you can learn some skills. Understand though, you'll have to a) keep up to date with the way the internet moves. B) You're going to have to do a lot of business offline to make that happen. For instance, I just got involved with a guy building an online platform, but I met him offline and (this is a big if at the moment,) if I turn it into a JV for it to succeed a lot of offline deals need to be made.

Back to the present though, you have to move business and expand it offline for it to be of any consequence. The blogging thing that a lot of people made their money on is almost dead in the water, affiliate programs are losing steam and SEO is being revolutionised constantly by new social media trends. It is hard work to stay on top of that, which you have to do.

Er. That is a bit about the truth of internet based business, but as a bit of a summary;
1) Keep away from Marketing other peoples stuff, make your own stuff and let other people be the internet marketers.
2) Never think of it as an online business. Think of it as a business that gets customers via the web.
3) Look to expand offline as quick as possible.
4) Be massively vigilant. Follow 'the rules of being in business' just like you would if you owned an oil company. Whatever you choose, you have to stay ahead of the game.

I agree with your principles. Although it is useful to be an affliate marketer to learn that aspect of the market so when you are a product creator you can use it to full advantage.

Offline is essential. Thats 50 percent of what I"m working on right now and thats where anyone can make good money provided they work hard on client acquisition.

Product Creation is the way to go too.

Here's a good way to make money from ViperChill Cloud Blueprint.

Find a niche. Create a landing a page and offer a free ebook/video series in exchange for email addresses. Build a list and send them content/products. Obviously you gotta know what you are talking about.

Its easy to get a big email list. Thats what I"m working on right now with a friends product thats in development. There are so many webmasters out there with huge audiences and lists that are broke and are not making shit with their sites. Offer them something and they'll be glad to let their audiences know about your shit.

There are a million ways to provide value to people that need it.

Internet Marketing isn't a business. For some reason, people are confusing internet marketing for what it really is.

The internet has opened a huge door for us. We can use it as a distribution channel, we can use it a means to market our products and services, build a brand, we can use it to support our customers and we can use it to hire people across the world to work for us.

Business fundamentals will still be the same regardless.

Most people getting into "internet marketing" are just looking to make some extra coin.

I can see why there is a huge failure rate.

No point in arguing what constitutes a business. I was just using Josh Kaufman's defination. Then again I have a pretty broad idea of what IM is. Anyway here's his defination-

ROUGHLY DEFINED, A BUSINESS IS A REPEATABLE PROCESS THAT:
(1) creates or provides something of value that
(2) other people want or need
(3) at a price they’re willing to pay, in a way that
(4) satisfies the purchaser’s needs and expectations and
(5) provides the business sufficient revenue to make it worthwhile for the owners to continue operation.

Its just semantics and we're both saying the same thing(business fundamentals are what matter). I remember you posting that you did well in IM previously. Would you say it was a worthwhile use of your time?
