This was posted on the Addicting Info site. Rather critique it myself, I'll re-post one of the comments over there because it was written by a girl just a few years older than them.

As such, she has a lot of cred when it comes to completely obliterating this. The bold highlights are mine:

What people don't realize is how bi-polar a country America is. You have the most far-right, tea party, ultra-libertarian, gun-toting hicks, and then on the other hand you have blue pill brainwashing like these girls being taught in schools.

It almost seems like liberals and SJWs in general think that there is a group of elite white men sitting in a room somewhere plotting evil plans to oppress all women, gays, blacks, hispanics, etc etc. One thing that successful people have in common is that they take their lives into their own hands and don't let anyone else determine their fate, regardless of 'privilage'.

And if someone can't make it through To Kill a Mockingbird without a 'trigger warning', their life is going to be pretty rough. We are coddling this generation too much.

I watched it again and didn't catch the first time that they opened up for John Legend at the Hollywood Bowl.

So you could have just purchased an expensive concert ticket with the intention of hearing the music you wanted to hear, and you've got to sit through this before you can even get to who you paid to go see. Then I bet everyone in the audience erupted into standing ovation and anyone that was still sitting down and not clapping would be jeered. And part of your concert ticket money would go to paying them on top of that.

This is really not anything new. Intellectuals, politicians, self proclaimed saints or just people wishing to jump on any soap box to get attention. Will usually incite hatred and point blame at a group of people for all of the problems of the world. Usually it comes from jealousy or just simple tribalism, human beings are a tribal species in the end of the day. Same thing happened to Jews, Chinese in South East Asia, Indians in Uganda, the list can just go on. Usually the line carries, that group x achieved their success and fortune on the grounds of privilege or mere luck, or other insidious means on the backs of group y.

The logic really doesn't round up, when you look around the world you see large substantial numbers of rich Chinese, Arabs and soon it will be Indians and Africans. What can the likes of Tim Wise say about the Indians, Koreans and Chinese students who do better than white students in American high schools. Or how Koreans are able to set up and own successful businesses in black communities.

When I visited America a long time ago now, I was surprised how white people where using the phrase "he is just a typical white guy" as some sort of insult. The amount of self loathing was immense, literally if you didn't have an apologetic bad posture and looked semi masculine, you were sidelined and talked badly about. This was a liberal city however, but the same sentiments are carried in television, films all the time.
