I agree. I find that Westerners identify gay people somewhat differently than Filipinos (and probably other cultures.) Gay people in the Philippines are usually flamboyant and very open about it. Majority of them cross dress and make it known. Those who do not, can still be figured out in that they act very effeminately.

Having said that however, it's easy to mistake what could be merely Philippine hospitality for a bunch of gay guys. Filipinos love foreigners after all. I remember in grade school, this black guy from France came to visit us... He was a missionary or something... but man, he had the whole school's attention. Tune Hotel in Makati is new, efficient and cheap. Internet is spotty, but it is available in room (check other Tune hotels to make sure the same is true). Depends on where you find them. Clubs vs daygame vs online.
