I'm 36 - Should I lie about my age on Match.com?
First off - I realize that there's nothing to be ashamed of in regards to 36. I'm fit, handsome, full head of hair and can pass for 32 or so. I greatly enjoy hanging around and fucking younger women (aged 22-26 is my preferred bracket). I am fully cognizant of the fact that I can do this until my early 40's (at least) without problem, but I don't see the point of having girls this age eliminate me off the bat if they flat out filter guys over 33 or so from their searches or from contacting them.

The pros: I can pass for 32 or 33, I would keep more girls in my targeted range (22-26) from filtering me out, age is only a number, etc.

The cons: I live in a medium sized city so there will definitely be people whom I have dated in the past, who know me personally, and maybe who are family members (or friends of my younger sisters) who realize what I'm doing.

Should I give a shit if people I know personally realize that I'm lying about my age? Do the ends justify the means? If somebody calls me on it what should I say?

Dude, chicks lie all the time, make up, heels and push up bras. You could be truthful and maybe it might not affect you or you can lie and have an advantage, to me the choice is clear.

RE: I'm 36 - Should I lie about my age on Match.com?
One of the girls I'm currently fucking is an 18 y/o who thinks I'm 28 (I'm 35). She was a bit concerned at the age gap initially (if only she knew the truth).

My other 21 y/o guessed "26" when I asked her how old she thought I was. I eventually came clean with this one, but she's totally fine with it.

Point is, if you can pass for younger, with your looks/vibe, don't be afraid of a little white lie to get your foot in the door so to speak...and if you feel the need to reveal it later or if she inadvertently finds out - it won't be as big of a deal as you think it might be.

I'm 40 and claim 36 on Match. I slip this into the conversation when we first meet. I say it was a mistake. I claim: "I put an age in, thinking I was not really serious about signing up, later I found out that the age can not be changed." 24 of 25 woman I've met did not even flinch at my statement.

Yes, lie.

Say you're 33, 32.

It doesn't matter. Do they find you attractive? Will they flake when you make plans?

That's what matters.

They lie too. They lie about their age, height, weight. They lie about their looks, by taking flattering face shots.

Do what it takes to get them out, and then close the deal.

I actually did this on PlentyOfFish, as I created a profile to scope out local talent but later when my profile was passively generating a lot of interest I wanted to change my profile information to be correct - NOPE.

If dating sites allowed you to filter by weight, how many women would think to themselves, "I used to weigh 110 in high school..."?

Agreed. But they totally don't care. I like the tactic of maybe revealing the truth on 1st/2nd date. I've had girls give me fake names and then show up for the date and tell me their real name. Really no difference.

I'm seeing someone half my age, she even commented on it one time in the bedroom that I was twice as old as her. They don't even blink. If they wanted a 20-yr old, they'd have one. I can easily pass for 5-10 years younger, but I only shave a couple years off. They care about how you look: in shape, not wrinkled, minor grey hair if any, well-dressed, confident.

I would not give a fuck about other people finding out that you arent interested in fucking. Do what's in your best interest. Set your age as low as you can pass for if going after increasingly demanding and unrealistic 22-26yr old Anglosphere women. In other parts of the world i would keep it 100%.

RE: I'm 36 - Should I lie about my age on Match.com?
I've had quite a few women (and men) look astonished when I've told them I'm 37 - (hell I'm astonished - how the fuck did that happen?)

So I always ask, "how old do you think I look?"

Make an average from that and then if you agree - use that age. I am now 31! I don't feel like a 20 something year old any more but I still feel early 30s.

Funny though, I think EVERY girl I have met from a dating site here has said, "are you sure you're 31? I think you're closer to 40!"

So who knows? Once you start fucking them and they like you, they won't care. I haven't corrected any of them yet which can cause a headache later. Always conscious of them finding my passport, or driving license, or seeing some document. Having to remember a fake year I was born, fake Chinese horoscope sign (rarely comes up!) or a friend blurting it out. And if they find out later, they will see that you are dishonest - and being hamsters on wheels, they will think, "Hmm... I wonder what else he's been dishonest about?" etc.

Your call -I'd still lie - just to reduce flakes from girls who haven't met you yet "IRL".

RE: I'm 36 - Should I lie about my age on Match.com?
A couple of things, i turn 37 in a few days and used to always tell the truth about my age: "wow you look amazing for someone your age, what is your secret to staying so young?"

A lot of women in their 20s tell me they want to date an older guy in his 30s because the guys their age have what they describe as weak game. They are not as mature, or don't have their shit together. In this case, lying could actually hurt you somewhat.

If you are going to college campuses with a backpack to run day game, you pretty much have to lie about your age, tell them you are 29 and a grad student.

So I would say it definitely depends on how young of the girl you are trying to fuck: if she is 18 to 21, you damn sure better lie about your age. If she is mid 20s to higher, just tell the truth.

If you are 36 but you say you are 32 - that's a stupid lie! There is no difference for women between 32 and 36...it's all called 30's! Just another thing you'll be insecure about and worry she finds out. What if things work out and you end up dating long term? Even if she says your lie is not a big deal - it is! She won't be trusting you about other things.

Houston, see post below for detail on 18 y/o...

/thread-11951-...#pid554803

It's funny, I got her to come over on Saturday night. I told her I wanted to discuss a potential business opportunity with her (more on that later).

She re-iterated about 3 times, that she would come over but we wouldn’t be having sex. We were fucking within 5 minutes, haha.

As for the 21 y/o, I met her in the gym. Offered to move some heavy plates off some equipment, got her number and went from there.

Refer to post below for more info on that too...

/thread-11951-...#pid523418

Apologies for the derail.

I say tell the truth. Unlike women, men's value actually increases as they get older. Women's value peaks around 25, while I've been told a man can push the height of his value into his 40's if he takes good care of himself. The reasoning is that you've had more time to get your shit together, and women value other things besides looks like status, wealth, etc.

There's merit in both approaches (tell the truth, or lie) - but particularly on a dating site, with the ruthless "nexting" that occurs, more often than not a young chick will see a number (and think "too old"), and not the other great qualities that can be inherent in a man when reaching that number (as you mention).

I believe it comes down to them thinking in the inverse, i.e. if you're 36 and they're 20, they'll think "when I was 4 he was 20!" - not the more rational way of thinking which would be that you're both adults and therefore on an even playing field so to speak.

Also, meeting a chick in person outside of a dating site is a different story, namely because you have the advantage of an interactive approach/introduction and the ability to influence her mind on a number of levels. They're much less likely to do any immediate number crunching upon the first meet also, since (if all goes well) they'll be swept up in the occasion...but if they do ask, and it's congruent with your look/vibe/style, you can feed her the white lie at your discretion.

That's true, and it does make sense. It's been a while since I've been on a dating side, but I do remember nexting girls for being less than 5'6" (I'm 6'2" and prefer taller girls). When there's a concrete value like age or height in a profile it can cause people to definitely be more picky. And there have been times that I've felt attraction to girls who are 5'4" or even 5'2" in person and I didn't allow the height to be an issue.

Football, maybe you can experiment a bit? Set up 2 profiles, one with your real age and one that lists you as younger, and see if one gets more attention than the other.

Short answer: no. I'm 36 and in no way feel at all at a disadvantage with regard to 18, 19, and 20 year old girls. If you feel self-conscious about your age, the best thing for you to do is to get in as good of shape as possible and improve your wardrobe as best you can.

definitely have a niche

i'm 6'4, 240ish, built. and have a full beard. like a big full beard. people say i look like a viking, king, wildling, or biker. i'm also a former competitive muay thai kickboxer.

i attract women that want to be smothered by a giant man.

i'm in suits a lot for work, so when i'm online i use pics of me a) jeans and t shirt like a biker, b) suits and ties for the contrast, and c) kickboxing

i'm continuously amazed at how many 22-25 year olds want to get with me but they do.

haven't dabbled much in the 18-22 market. some limited conversation i've had with them are really challenging for me.
