Even though i know some Spanish, I am more inclined, at the moment towards SEA, and that has more to do with my appreciation of asian women. However, since I am a salsa dancer, I do have attraction and things in common with latinas.

And not to throw off the thread, if others are able to chime in about why they pick one South American country over the other b/c I tend to look at many of the same things that others weigh and that is weather, costs, bangability of girls, food and safety.

Venezuela from what I hear has quality women, but it sounds way too dangerous right now. If there are some places that are relatively safe, then I would consider Venezuela. I've been to places that are considered unsafe in Central America (parts of Mexico and Nicaragua), but from my understanding Venezuela is much worse.

From what I'm reading, it sounds like the women in Ecuador and Peru are not as high quality as Colombia.

Unless I find some better info on DR, I'll probably pass because it sounds like there may be a little too much p4p for my tastes.

Find better info on the DR? Have you read AliB and Fistos threads on here? Tons of info. DR was the most hyped location of 2012 on the RVF. Even dudes with blonde, frizzy, woman-like hair that can't hold their booze get laid down there.

Thanks RioNomad for pointing me to the DR threads.

I've read many of the DR threads now and it looks like a good option; I'm having a really hard time deciding between DR and Colombia.

Where is dance (salsa, bachata, etc) game least important? I have zero latin dancing experience and won't really have time to learn and practice before I go, although once I'm there I'm open to taking classes.

One goal for my trip is to become fluent in Spanish. I think with 2-3 months of immersion I might be able to get there based on my current proficiency. My only concern about DR is the reports of the non-standard DR accent. I don't want to come back from the trip having a non-standard accent. Is the accent better for the higher-educated Dominicans?

Venezuela is over hyped. Sure there are some stunners walking around, but the average Colombian girl is still hotter than the average Venezuelan girl imo. Venezuelans just seem bigger, i dont know if it's more fat or on average just genetically are bigger, but I didn't like them as much

You're considering going to Southeast asia and latin america and you're worried about too much p4p? I'd stay home then.

P4p is going to be there, in pretty much every major city. In Thailand and Phils it's almost a joke how much there is, particularly the former. Learning how to weed out semi-pros is half the fun.

So, I've narrowed my choices to DR and Colombia. One thing I didn't mention is that while I'm on my trip, I'm going to be working during the day for part of the time, so activities other than banging and nightlife don't matter that much to me.

I've started testing out Badoo in DR to get an idea of how easy it would be there. I'm going to test out Colombia after I finish up the DR experiment.

Here's my experiment.

I created a profile with 6 fun pictures of me. A few are of me traveling in Vegas and a tropical beach. My "about" section is one line of text. My "personal" section is my standard info, although I stated I have a lower income than I actually do...

I accidentally bought "super powers", because I thought I was purchasing the ability to send more than the limited number of messages. Based on the high response rate, I decided not to buy points because I don't want to send more messages.

Over the past 3 days I have sent 25 (cold) messages to girls that I found by browsing. I sent an additional 3 (warm) messages to cute girls who visited my profile. I've had approximately 10 girls send me a message first; I don't have those exact stats because I deleted most of them. Most girls are 18-22; the oldest is 25.

My cold message is 4 sentences: 2 English and 2 Spanish and basically tells them I'm moving to DR and want to get to know some people before I go. Of course after we chat a bit I make it obvious I'm looking for more than a friendship.

My warm message varies. The only one that hooked I said in Spanish: "I saw you looking at my profile. I'm so handsome, right? just kidding. What's up?"

Stats (after 3 days):

25 cold messages
12 didn't read my message
6 read my message but didn't reply
1 replied, but was out of my target area so I ignored
1 replied, but didn't hook
3 are slow chatting, but seem somewhat interested

I'll update in a few days, but based on the limited amount of time I've spent, I think I've had a good response rate.

Newgame, I realize you are in the very early stages, so you are narrowing down whether to travel to DR or to Colombia. ... which seems like a good testing strategy.

The Badoo account uses my real first name (it's a common name), my actual age, height, and weight. I don't provide a last name. One girl asked to chat on WhatsApp, but that would allow her to see my US phone number, so I diverted. The story I tell them is that I'm going there for work and will be there a minimum of 6 months, but this info isn't in my profile. I don't use FB at all, so I'm not planning on making an account.

I thought about lying about my age. I'm late 30's and I lie about my age in the US since most people think I'm early 30's. However, based on the response I've received from the young girls in DR, I don't see the point at this time.

When I get there, if I think the girl is high quality, I wouldn't have a problem providing my actual info. Of course I'd have to meet at least a couple times and check out her story. If I'm just planning a pump and dump, then I wouldn't provide that info.

Below are the updated stats. I'm moving on to test out Colombia now as I don't think much will change after this long.

I had 4 new replies. 3 are slow-chatting me. The other one was kinda fat so I ignored her reply; I can't figure out why I messaged her in the first place.

Other than the 3 that want to meet up, there are 6 more that are slow-chatting. I think these girls either rarely use Badoo or are online at different times than me, so I can't get a good chat going. Other than those I messaged first, I've been messaged by innumerable fatties, but none were cute enough to chat with.

I don't know much about the DR, but the signs point to them having some money (light skin, pics in nicer places, pics with other light-skinned people, proper spelling/grammar, etc). I'm assuming, maybe incorrectly, that the DR is similar to the rest of LatAm and light skin often equals more money.

Thanks for this info. I had just started messaging in Colombia and was thinking the quality isn't that good. I'm looking through pages and I'm having difficulty finding decent quality. I'll take a look at those sites.

I guess this experiment isn't going to work out. I was hoping that it would be an equal comparison between the countries: same message, same site, same age-range, etc.

I now realize that there are a couple of problems with this experiment.

1. As already stated, Badoo isn't used much in Colombia; of the 10 initial messages I sent on Badoo, none have been viewed yet. I noticed that none of the girls have been online in the past week.
2. CC is a dating site, while Badoo is more than that (from my understanding)
3. The online quality on CC isn't nearly as good as DR Badoo.
4. You can't message girls without paying for a month and I don't really want to spend $20 on CC for this experiment.

So, for now, the experiment is over.

Myself I don't get the attraction to SEA at all and cannot understand how any guy would compare it girl wise to the likes of Columbia/Brasil. Was in the Philippines last week for a few days in Manila and I saw nothing incredible that is for sure. Just your standard Asian fare of skanky hookers everywhere being chased by grampa boners. Planned on 4 days there but cut it short after 2.

Same goes for the rest of Asia excluding Korea and Japan. There is some hope there but most Asian women to me are very average looking and money grubbing skeets. I liked Thailand for vacation with my ex Brasileira but single looking for women its nothing great. After a week there I've definitely had enough and seen much of the place. Been out this way now over a year and well fed up with it. Heading back to wonderful South America soon.

Usually guys that rave about SEA have never been to South America or are these weak insecure types who want women they can control like slaves (its just not sex they are into). Bottom line forget SEA / Asia and concentrate on South America!

So, where in Manilla and BKK did you go to find girls?

Greenbelt, Hardrock Cafe, Shangri La, Hyatt Casino in Manilla. Every sort of bar you could imagine in BKK as I've been there a bunch of times.

I would rate the women in Manilla slightly better looking than Thai's but honestly I just can't get into Asian women at all. I'm so one sided with my preferences (I know they are more extreme than most) but if a girl doesn't have an ass and a western type of face I ain't interested at all which basically no Asian woman has.

So I'm doomed to live out my days in Brazil. Actually that doesn't sound all that bad...
