I try to stay away from black as much as possible. It's boring and makes clothes look unflattering unless the cut is really good. Also the shoes look terrible, oxfords is what i would use. Other than that, solid advice.

I stopped reading when he put those shoes up.

The fact that those style of shoe has been around so long is testament to how poor most mens fashion is.

RE: How to wear with style
I disagree with the guy that says black is a bad color. Black is a great stylish color, it has always been, and will always be. Black shows wealth, coolness, badass'ness, class, etc etc. Look at celebs and royal people and presidents and everywhere: black is in.

I also disagree with the guys that say black men's leather shoes are a no-go. I dont know where you live, but everywhere I've been, succesful business people, presidents and cool guys wear black leather shoes. I'm not saying those are the only option, but if you aim to dress classy and cool and appear wealthy, black leather shoes are a great choice.

I do agree with RioNomad though, when he says that usually you should unbotton the upper button in your shirt. This specific picture is from a formal wedding... It all depends on the situation of course Smile

Thanks for discussing my stuff guys Smile

Most men wear new-balance sneakers or other mainstream stuff.
If you like to dress like a hipster, feel free.
My advice is for people who want to appear classy, rich and cool.
And for the record, I've seduced and fucked over 100 girls wearing those shoes (I've had them for several years) so that alone is proof that they are not completely horrible as you say they are .

Have a good day though Wink

the problem with the shoes is not the color or material. is the tip. Squared tip shoes are ugly.

Regardless of the amount of girls you slept with wearing those shoes. Something along the lines of an Allen Edmond wingtip oxford will go a long way in class and style.

And graphic shirts are ok but not when it's distracting the attention from your face and body. Pieces should compliment you. Outside of that I think you're on the right track. Keep it up.

Not-too-slim suits, I like grey with a white shirt and skinny black tie.

lol...black is the most flattering color both genders. If your fat maybe NOT but then nothing looks good. IMHO shoes should be black..maybe brown sometimes.

I agree, and I specifically avoid shoes with square tips.
On the other hand, super pointed shoes (with a narrow tip) can also look too feminine/metrosexual/gay/soft.
Thats why I found those to be a perfect combination. They are not completely square tipped like the dorky old-man's shoes -they are something in-between pointed and squared Smile

i would not add anything, but subtract everything, he dress terribly, but it is true that the inside is the most important, if your body is in good shape most clothing will fit nicely and will look better than it actually is,

It's all about the shoes, for me. I like the flashy stuff. Browns, light grey/silver.

Suiting up of course is always a great idea.

Dude, those shoes are terrible.

Look into something like this.

And if that was for a formal wedding you should be wearing a tie, and leave the red shirt in the closet if its formal.

Edit: just saw you are only around 21... so all in all not bad for a guy your age. But those shoes are still terrible.

RE: How to wear with style
Yeah, nothing wrong with black shoes or black suits. But I agree that square shoes are ugly. Incredibly pointy shoes are also a bit weird, so obviously go for something in between.

Shoe thoughts: Have a black and brown pair. Round or slightly sharper point, with LEATHER soles.

Tie: Skinny ties. I prefer solid colors.

Shirts: Fitted. No undershirts ever. I could care less what the event or occasion is, if you don't want to dress the typical shitty american style way, then leave at least 2 or 3 buttons open.

Belt: Slimmer belts are classy. Need to match your shoe color.

Full suit basics: Wool is the material of choice. Fit is the most important factor for looking sharp. Spend a little money and take your suit to a tailor if it doesn't fit like a glove. Don't do that ridiculous test stretching your arms and crossing them. You're never going to do that in your suit. You're not wearing it to the gym. It must be form fitting or it doesn't matter how expensive the material is...Period. The cuff on your undershirt should be slightly visible when your arms hang down. Thin lapels look sharper. Your suit jacket shouldn't be longer than your arms hang, and 2 button versions look the best in my opinion. Only button the tip button when standing up.

This a pretty good example of how to rock a suit, especially a 3-piece.

In my opinion, the shoes you just posted with the rounded tip, are WAYYY more feminine and dorky Smile

For brown shoes, I love these longwings by Sagara Indonesia. Unfortunately, they use corrective grain leather.

RE: How to wear with style
The problem with the shoes in the original post is that probably came from Target or K-Mart and cost $20.

The US shoemakers, Allen Edmonds, Aldens, etc., are a good deal if you're in the US. In other countries, you'll get better value from English brands.

I buy most of mine from here: http://www.herringshoes.co.uk/product-li...?brandid=6
Scroll down for their cheaper collections if you're looking for something cheaper.
All of their shoes are made by old English shoemakers like Alfred Sargeant, Cheaney, and Loake, but Herring specifies the colours, grain, finish, etc.

RE: How to wear with style
Of course keeping in mind style is subjective, I completely disagree with your shoe choice. I lived in Italy for 4 years, so of course my style tends to have a more European look. For you or anyone else checking out this thread, I'd recommend something similar to the following to really sharpen up your suit style. I wouldn't necessarily want to stitching that goes across it, but you get the idea for the shape/style.
