Happiness with a 3
I have a group of friends that looks like the big bang theory. They are engineers building airplanes or computer programmers. They are über geeks. In the past I played role playing games with them a few times. The difference with the Big Bang Theory is that they all have girls. One of them met his girl on World of Warcraft, four years ago (no joke). The other one explained to me his strategy for online dating : he creates a profile on a dating site. Then he waits for girls to contact him. He says he got 2 girlfriends with this strategy.

You could say these guys have below zero game. But in a way, they are happy geeks. I don’t see them being upset about it. They embrace their geekiness and seem comfortable in their own skin.

They seem happy in their relationships too. Now their girls look terrible. One is a whale, the other has a crooked nose and looks a bit like a witch, other is chubby with a very average face. An Italian friend showed me a while back that there is no shame in doing a chubby monster once in a while, if it’s for a ONS abroad with no witnesses. However, I would never think of starting a relationship with one. My pride forbids me.

But, when I see these guys once every six months, part of me respects them for being able to let go of superficial qualities and just being happy in their relationship, with girls that will happily play their video games with them. This is happiness with a 3.

If he's having a good time with it, good for him! I envy guys like that. If you can be as happy with a 3 as I am with a 6 or 7, then you're just as happy as I am and you've got a much easier time of it.

Now if he's actually turned off by her hideous, crone-like countenance and is just telling himself he's happy to avoid the pain involved in finding something better, that's another issue. But if he really is happy, then good for him.

People always care what others think on a subconscious level. The value of a man is proportional to the attractiveness of his woman. I don't think you could ever be happy with a 3 unless you were gay and it was a platonic relationship.

If you're not growing, you're dying.

RE: Happiness with a 3
Geeks sell them selves short I find. For being smart they should understand that being a geek just means you have tastes in different things and their will be hot women whom have tastes in those things too. The laws of social dynamics, groupthink, herd mentalities and the humans need to be a part of something don't change the more abstract and odd your tastes and likes are. I learned this first hand from having to socialize with BDSM people and realizing they were no different then regular people. They prided themselves on being open-minded and different but they were just as ignorant and in-need of acceptance and validation like the majority, just a different style to which they perused it.

If they excel at whatever geeky shit they do make sure they own it and run their niche like anything else. Women will chance the value and status, it does not matter what you do, women in that subset will take notice. One dude whom I know is a photographer and uses that as his avenue to get girls. He takes fetish photos and has a good personality and is sociable. He is no Brad Pitt but since he has something that women want, and he leverages it into situations where he can meet a lot of women and find one's whom click. Plus he says just for him showing up at events with hot women, and being around hot women whom he has worked with helps his confidence but also projects DHV to other girsl whom are more on his level.

Having a different mindset and approach can mean in those closed group circles you would have a easy advantage over the rest of your competition. The pickings for quality women would be more spare but they would be there.

RE: Happiness with a 3
There was a girl back in high school that was a whale(250~), huge tits(too big) but a nice face.. She got around a lot. Anyways a pretty beta guy I know pretty much got gamed by her and started dating her eventually.. I'm assuming she was the one that put the foot down and made him date her but part of me wonders if this kid is actually happy. He's never been with another girl as far as I know.. Not a bad looking guy, about a third the size of her, just super quiet. Anyways.. She just announced she's 6 months pregnant lol. Part of me can't help but feel terrible for this guy.. Definitely got the short end of the stick in my opinion. First bang, first relationship let alone first LTR, first child... All with a whale that had got it in a shit ton prior to him. His life is forever going to involve this chick on some level..

If I spelled it out to him like that he would probably either be on the verge of suicide or just deny deny deny... But that won't happen and he will continue on as he has been -- which seems to be pretty happy.

The blue pill is some powerful stuff. I wouldn't even doubt that this girl fucked around behind his back at some point as well. Greasy..

Conceived to beat all odds like Las Vegas

it's an interesting one for sure
a few guys in my outer social circle are engaged/married to 4s (one is possibly a 5 at a stretch)
i've gotta say i find it hard to respect these guys and that's a large part of the reason i've drifted away from most of them
none of them are ryan gosling, but bar one or two of them, they could all have bagged better quality for the long haul if they weren't firmly camped in blue pill territory

Maybe true for you and me, but these guys have a different set of values.
The guy who met his girl on World of Warcraft, was a virgin before. She is his first girlfriend and he is super grateful that she wants to be with him. He is 100% blue pill and actually went to meet this girl in a different city 700km away after chatting with her for months. Soon after, they moved in together.
As far as he's concerned, it's a fairytale ending.
If my first girlfriend had not dumped me, I'd probably not have bothered with "game" and have a similar mindset (however she was at least a 7).

No reason to disrespect them. Let's be realist here, if tomorrow every guy had the game of Porfirio, many will still be stuck with ugly girls. Beauty is a bell curve, there are only so many women to go around that are 7+. They are in the demographic minority. Most people are average, so most people will end up with something average just from the law of numbers.

I can't sit here and berate every guy that isn't pulling hotties.

Absolutely.
The trick is recognizing that then exploiting it.

Yeah, there are a lot of guys that actually love having an ordinary life.

Think about it:

-There are no failures (because you never try)
-There are no changes or surprises.
-No females = no female problems.
-You never ever get rejected.
-You get to enjoy simple geeky pleasures with no regrets. Role playing games and WOW can actually be fun.
-The biggest setback in your life was when you lost your +5 vorpal to a band of orcs.

Not my kind of life, but then again, I dont like anything ordinary.

What is a "3" ? We've covered 2s, 4s, 5s and the rest but not much on threes. Can someone post some pictures?

I'm shallow. I need looks first. Personality second.

I'm not saying I wouldn't date a 6 with a good personality. She'd have to be absolutely awesome in every other way.

That's not shallow in the slightest, you're a normal healthy man.

Is there a way to post pictures while keeping them private to forum members? I'd put some off facebook but I don't want to embarass these people.

Can't agree with that. A dime on your arm is proof of social value, but not the true measure of a man's worth. The value of a biologist working on a cure for HIV that gets no ass > a guy with game and nothing else to offer in my book.

I got nothin' but love for the nerds that contribute so much to society and get so little reward for it. I hope these dudes truly are happy -- so many of them aren't.
