I just turned 20 in december.I feel like i have the mind of a thirty year old though,I dont know it all but im preparing for the future.Ive had my fair share of party and pussy but its time to put the work in.I think weight training will stay with me for life,started when i was 17.

I'd be interested to hear what guys in their 40's on the forum say about being in that decade of life. Something to look forwards to or a steep decline?

The thing I have been realising recently is once you start to be considered 'old' by young women,it's pretty much over for a huge chunk of your life ( I'm not there yet ). When I'm with a chick in a bar I like to gauge their opinions on men in the venue so I will point out an older dude,say late 40's, who might be dressed to the nines,who probably has wealth and a whole host of interesting life stories and knowledge to share and say "would you fuck him?",and the reply is invariably "oh no he's old enough to be my dad". Well that would be the end for me. The day I can't pull a hot 20 year old is the day a piece of me dies. I might be wealthy,have a nice home and car,holidays abroad but if young chicks don't eye fuck me when I'm walking down the road I will know it's over for me in a huge way and the trappings of wealth will just be adornments that will mean little. What is the way around this? I suppose fuck your way through your 20's and 30's and when you hit about 45 start looking for a good younger woman to LTR.

I'm coming up on 28 and I feel like 27 was a real awakening year. I anticipate my 30s being far better than my 20s. For me it was:15-18 early player years, didnt give a fuck, got pussy constantly; 19-23 LTR was morphing me into a beta and breaking me of my old ways; 24-27 getting a grip on things coming out of beta and back into alpha and also doing the whole career thing only to realize there's more to life than cubicles; 28+ I will be perfecting my game and lifestyle.

Here's my take on it - your perspective will change as you pass through the decades. My 40's were spent married (6 months divorced now at 57), so I can't speak as to how that decade was for chasing tail. I DO know that now, despite looking young/good for my age, the only way I'm going to bang a 20-something is by forking over an envelope full of 20s as I enter her in-call location.

Frankly, I'm not that torn up about it - there are plenty of super-fine 40/50-somethings here in LA and they're easy as hell to bang. Can I bounce a quarter off their asses? Probably not. Will there be a huge "life-commonality" between myself and these ladies? Fuck yeah...it's like that old Steely Dan song "Hey 19"- if the only thing you have in common is your love of "Cuervo Gold and fine Colombian" (and the horizontal bop)...it's gonna' get boring fairly quick...not to mention you're going to have to worry about investing a lot of time in some young hottie only to have her run off with the proverbial pool boy.

When I was in my 20s and even 30s, the thought of banging a 40-something was depressing...that number has now been pushed up to 60! We are, after all, a flexible species - and what you think is "old" will soon in fact be "young."

As for the REST of my life (excluding women)? The 50's have been the best decade for me so far - I've been able to accumulate bank, have the toys that I always wanted, the fitness to still surf overhead waves and steep powder, I'm a couple of years away from retirement and I jettisoned the monster that used be my wife...and, I am NEVER settling down with a woman again - been there, done that - twice.

Although many things about getting older suck, I think it looks worse than it is because younger people don't factor in how their own perspective and interests will change. When I was a kid, I thought being a teenager or adult would be horrible because they didn't get toys on the holidays. I'm in my mid-30s and women have already moved far down my list of priorities so I imagine that by the time I am in my 40s and 50s they won't be a big factor at all in my happiness.

Yes. Don't get married don't have kids. Take care of yourself. You make more money, you should be smarter and socially aware. I'm dating a girl that is 26 and have a date with a 25 year old tonight. So essentially I am still banging the same age women I was when I was 10 - 15 years younger.

That's what they say, but not necessarily what a lot of them do.

Daddy issues, bucket list chicks, gold diggers, etc. The talent pool might get a bit smaller, but it isn't empty.

im in my late 20´s and i have to say when i look back at where i was at the start of my 20s to now its been an incredible ride full of so many changes. i think members here are easily more self improvement based than the vast majority of the population. some of us may have got off to a late start, shit i know i did. but today my thirst for self improvement, experience and knowledge in all forms makes me curious about how evolved i will be by the time i am in my mid 30s. its great to hear from other members which seem to validate the benefits which are to be reaped in your 30s by working on self improvement now in your 20s.

I agree with what snoop said. I'm 40s, and this is as scientific as i can get from experience:

If you take a dating pool of 21-25 year olds, about 1 in 4 are totally down to seeing an older guy; no problem. About 25% have a mental block where they just won't do it, and the other 50% of the pool are a challenge, but if you hit the right buttons you are fine.

I've got a little gray starting to come in, and am going with it. but it begs the question "how old are you?" If you take care of yourself, they don't know. They have no perspective. A 40 year old woman knows, but a 22 year old doesn't. My approach: "How old do you think i am?"..."I don't know...34?" "wow, you're close" and then you change subject...

I think it's like this. it depends on the venue and her background. look around the bar and if you are the oldest guy there, get out. if she is the oldest daughter and her parents are like 45-50...you are going to have problems. if her parents are older. it's easier. common sense.

Young women that work in a professional environment will usually go for the 40s guy. Damaged chicks also go for the 40s guy.

More difficult, but not impossible if that's your thing.

As for 30s versus 20s. Yes, it gets better, but your attitude should also change a bit. Candidly, I believe everything is pushed back about 10 years from my parent's generation. I remember my father at 40 something and he was like 55 compared to how I am now.

Set goals, stay fit, bank a few dollars, accumulate some stories and keep up on your pop culture and you can chat up 20somethings all day.

Yeah, 30s is so much better. First I blamed it on not knowing game in my 20s, but I guess I just have learn't many things the hard way. twenties was one big red pill, and now I enjoy the fruits...I started late in game, even later than most guys, but I now know it is never too learn to get into the game and get a life.

I`d say the 30s has been the best time of my life for these simple reasons:
1. I am able to focus better on my goals and follow through on reaching them.
2. I am by no means defined by what people think of me. Especially not woman. I operate by the magic motto "next"
3. I am in better shape than ever (but I also work harder than ever for it, but I enjoy it)
4. I have found a spiritual belief that gives me peace about the "big questions"
5. I am in a position now where I can exploit my freedom to the fullest. Economically, without kids and single.

As some suggested here, if I`d give anyone an advice to prepare for your 30s, it must be to do keep an eye on the future just a little more. Get yourself an apartment or save for one. Rent it out when you travel, and have someone else pay your mortgage. Refinance the mortgage if you can for extra funds to travel with after a few years. Point is, paying rent to a landlord is money you will never see again and a total waste. I have been doing pretty good with my investment and that is partly the reason why I can harvest the fruits from it now. However, I wish I did it when I was 25, and I would be in an even better situation now.

So is this thread about 40s or 30s? Anyway things were different in my 30s for one simple fact..The bars were packed almost every night in Florida now regardless of my age of 43 I could do the same shit if the targets were there. Now about my 20s. Again the bars were even more packed. Reckless girls all over. The times have more effect on what's up not so much our age.

This is a really good point. I remember when i was a kid i used to watch this mexican soap where this black mexican kid had a really nice car (for kids) and only very rich people could afford them back then. I had asked my parents to buy it for me and they gave me false promesses that they would buy it for me but they never did. I knew that if i ever had that mini car, i would pull any chick i wanted (i was 5 or 6 at the time). I made a promess to myself that i would buy it one day. Now that i could easily afford it, there is no way that i would buy it because im not a kid no more and im living a new phase.

I had the same problem with strip clubs in my late teens. I was fucking crazy about seeing women naked in strip clubs, that shit really turned me on. I used to travel to amsterdam a lot just to check out the women in strip clubs (never fucked them though), i felt extremely happy during that time. Nowadays there is no way that you will see me in strip clubs, i grew tired of it.

Basically my point is that if you want to experience something, DO IT now, you will be way happier if you live more in the now instead of postponing your life. To an extent, you will be a different person every few years,so if you dont live in the now, you will never accomplish some of your wishes because you will have a new perspective on life every few years. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't make plans for your future. There is an old saying that says ''you only regret what you don't do'' and that's very true for me.

My life would be richer by now if i had bought that car when i was kid. As an adult, i refuse not to make my dreams come true (that experience as a kid was enough for a life lesson). As my dreams are mostly related to travelling, every time i have the urge to go somewhere, i just buy the ticket and i fly there. I dont care if i have an exam in few weeks, i don't care if i dont have lots of money saved in the bank, i just do it because living in the now is what makes me truly happy (although i also make plans for my future).

Let me paraphrase what Alan Watts said (posted by RichieP recently):

my advise to guys in their twenties is to work hard and play hard. Your hunger for women and your ambition to succeed will never be stronger. Make the most of that time and you will reap the rewards in your thirties.

- YOu have the experience to push yourself to do something great. (If you so wish)
- Your relaxed care free attitude will help you get laid. I never go out to pull anymore like I did in my twenties, but I have noticed I am far more successful with women.
- money worries should be less of an issue.

Most of my 20s were spent working out all the time, partying, studying, reading and writing. I feel I fucked up a lot though since I have not started my career and probably won't until after graduate school (33-34).

Ideally I am shooting for a blog/ebook business ala Roosh so that could take off in a few years.

The things I have going for me is that I did not waste my youth on drugs and drinking which has given me a huge advantage looks wise (most women don't think I'm over 25). If I keep it up I could be a 30 year old looking 40 something man.

At 29 I am still getting looks from 18-19 year olds. I sure don't look like the old man in the club.

If I work hard everyday, stay away from the bullshit, go out as much as I can, and dedicate myself, I could be set by 35, set as in money is tight, game is tight, fame (yeah why not) is achieved, and I will have all the free time in the world to do what I want (which is what I really want).

My only issue is I kinda feel the clock is TICKING. I see it everyday.

So I am motivated more now at 29 than I was at 21 since I know time is finite and I need to invest it as much as possible, read everyday, write everyday (even if it is only for 15 minutes), post on my blog every week, go out on the weekends, even if it is one day a week (shoot for three), approach, approach, approach, never let work get in the way of sex, and most importantly:

Do your best and always keep a positive attitude.

It is difficult but I think the fact that I am conscious of time is what will make my 30s and 40s the best years of my life.

The biggest mistake I made in my 20s is I worked too hard but I worked on skills that would make my dreams possible so I guess it wasn't a mistake. I look back on my 20s and wish I would have enjoyed it more. Now that I am approaching the big 30 I am ready to take on the world.

I am in the age bracket you speak off and I guess I am sort of lucky being "black" with decent genes. I don't look my age but I still have to take care of myself, lately the bags under my eyes seem to be getting worse due to lack of sleep. Apparently Prepartion H is good for that, Hemmorhoid cream for those that don't know what it is.
I will say that I fight to stay looking young, I train hard 3x a week and play soccer year round with guys age 20 to 50. Call me naive but I think having a gut gives away a man's age, I have a four pack.
I have also come to realize alcohol might not be my friend, I have had to cut back considerably on it. Of course my diet is pretty clean, although I don't eat alot and junk food I don't even look at.

The good news is I am horny as a mofo, I have more control over the libido but sometimes I look at "him" and say what the fuck in a good way.
Women are always a interesting topic, my beta friend loves to tease me about my options. There is a 19 yr old co-op student at work who flirts with me non-stop, 25 yr old EE girl at the gym who stares at me (great ass but a butterface), 30 yr old at work who I am actually interested in. Also host of mid 30 year old women that are looking for LTR's but don't really fit the bill, my mistake was telling them I am not a LTR guy. I even had a girl from like 20 years ago reach out to me and I just blanked her cold in her tracks.
I think the key with women is too not look like the old guy, so your body, face and dress sense must be up to date.
I have always said I would love to stay age 35 forever, 40's are good because you know who you are and others know not to fuck with you. The downside is money wise I am not at the point I would like to be, so I study at night and work hard. At this age you become a little tired of the work grind and start looking for alternate ways of making money. That is the plus side of being young, I worked three jobs in my early 20's and it wasn't a problem.

Here's also another difference, at least for me

In my 20s I almost CRAVED self destructive experiences. I loved feeling like I got the shit kicked out of me after a night of heavy drinking and working 14 hour days in some of the best restaurants in L.A. Road trip to Vegas even though I can only spend 18 hours there and have to work the next day? No prob, sign me up. Didn't work out, didn't give a shit about my health.

Now, I still get the occasional crazy hair and pull a bender, but it's rare. I have a sense of mortality and self-preservation that wasn't there before. I enjoy feeling good. Recovering from working out has cut my alcohol intake massively. Most nights off, if I'm not horny, I'm content laying on my couch and listening to classical music with my cats. I don't feel like I'm missing out either, after having hundreds of nights out in this city. I know what's out there, I've done every drug under the sun except heroin, I've had sloppy ONSs.

The only way I can see getting back into some of the habits of my 20s was if I moved to a new city. I can see that lighting a huge spark under my ass.

RichieP - my advice to you is study hard in a field that is in demand or work hard in a field in demand. The bottom line is to stack paper which will help you on in life, now and in the future.
My biggest regret was an investment I did not make around 1996, it was a condo in downtown Toronto near the financial district which was for sale for $120K (350 sq.ft). I was talked out of buying it although my gut told me it was the thing to do, now they sell for $380K which hurts.
I have no regrets over women!
I am also a big advocate of travelling while you are young, or any age for that matter.
