I strongly believe we should NOT go down that path. You have posted the dude's name on this forum, which means that future employers may be able to find this thread when googling his name. Does anyone doubt that this dude is banging his female CS guests on the regular? He may even be a RVF member. 1) I did not upload your photo, I merely linked to it. I can no longer edit the post to delete the link, for the post is editable for only 60 minutes after it has been submitted. Note, however, that I did not include your last name to protect your privacy.

2) The photo is not hosted on this website, but at the Amazon servers that CouchSurfing rents for storage. I do understand that you're upset, but the moment you uploaded photos to your CS profile you made them AVAILABLE TO THE ENTIRE WORLD, irrespective of whether your CS profile is only visible to CS members or not. This is a CS privacy problem that I cannot solve.

My advice: delete the photo that was shown here. If CS is well-designed, the moment you delete your photo on CS, a message will be sent to the Amazon servers to delete it there. If this does not work, you have to accept the fact that your photos will be stored in the Amazon servers forever, or until Amazon collapses, whichever comes first.

In other words, I cannot solve your problem.

After reading this thread, I did a little talley on CS. I was looking at the list of women and men for my city who were looking for a couch. Out of 100 male requests, only 8 had 3 or more replies. Out of 100 women it was 32. So it's basically 4x easier for a girl to get hosted than a guy, and most the hosts are guys. You'll also note that a girl that's pretty almost instantaneously has the "3 or more replies" flag next to her name. What does that tell you? And most the people with their couch set to "yes" are guys. Most women seem to set theirs to "maybe" or "drink or coffee". So let's just be honest about what CS is without all the idealistic facade. It's largely a way for women to travel for free thanks to the "generosity" of men hoping for sex from a foreign woman. Maybe that's not now why CS was started, and maybe that's not what it should be used for, but just looking at who gets hosted the most and who's doing the hosting, the pattern is clear. So to you guys reading this thread from CS groups and angered by this forum, this shit was already going on. If you are that angry about it, then petition the admins to make a rule that women can only contact other women. Short of that, nothing is going to stop guys from using the site as a tool to hookup. Freud was right, everything men do short of becoming a priest, is ultimately driven by sexual desires.

So quit your damn whining. Hell, I bet even the guy that founded CS has banged a few girls that slept on his couch. So seriously, shut up about it already. How many creeping loser guys are there who only let girls stay at there houses and HOPE, let me repeat HOPE that the beautiful foreign girl likes them?. No, I am not talking about "cultural exchange" and stuff like that. I hosted 100s of couchsurfers, and never did I hit on my female guests. So, what do I get out of it? Two words: free labor.

Imagine that I get home from work at 8 pm. I tell my guests to arrive at that time, too. I also tell them to buy some food. So, the guests arrive, we chat a bit, then I go take a long shower while my guests (male or female) cook. Let's see: they buy food for me, they cook for me, and they pay for it. What's not to like? They get free accommodation in an amazing place. They get something out of it, too. Win-win situation. Perfect!

I hear ya. I haven't hit on every girl I've hosted either. If there's clearly no vibe like that between us, then I err on the side of caution. I'm there to have fun, not make an uncomfortable situation for anyone. Some have been very nice and bought groceries and cooked great meals and seemed genuinely appreciative. One girl I hosted a few months back bought like $100 of groceries(including liquor) within minutes of arriving. I was about to pay for my own stuff, but she took out her card and bought her stuff and mine. And then cooked as soon as we got back. When they are cool like that, then I don't mind showing them a great time in return.
