I haven't been keeping up with MMA like I used to but USADA is a bunch of retard's. JJ has a serious history with drug abuse and steroid violations, not showing up for tests and what not and he gets 1-year reduced. Yet Nick Diaz pops for weed and gets 5 years, then has to appeal multiple times to get it reduced to 18 months, never used a steroid in his life.

At least in Russian speaking part of the world the upcoming 6.October fight between Connor McGregor and Khabib Numagomedov has caused a huge agitation, all the Russian internet is full with videos of opinions of this fight, it's the same as when Connor fought Mayweather.

From the silence in this forum and very few English youtube videos about that I conclude this this fight is somewhat missing English speaking attention. It's interesting how strong is the English speakers cognitive language bubble, when they care little for a fight with a difficult to pronounce Central asian surename even when that guy is possible the best ground fighter / grappler in history of MMA? Or am I wrong and you MMA fans are taking intrest on this fight?

I don't remember seeing Khabib's chin getting really tested, his fights have been very dominant, and he is still undefeated. Connor is going to face a freight train at full speed, but of course has the punchers chance, striking is the only dimension of the game that he is superior to Khabib, in stamina and grappling Khabib is way up.

Is it just me or am I the only one slightly more excited for El Cucuy vs Showtime than the Main event?

I guess maybe because I'm a Ferguson fan.....I've no vested preference in who wins the Main event but of course I'll watch. Equally to more excited about his return than Conor' s.

The thing is Khabib IS punch able. I want to you look at the Michael Johnson fight. People forget that he got cracked on the way in for a takedown during round 1 and that Michael Johnson managed to circle out the takedowns during I believe round 2. He was losing the striking exchange. Johnson getting manhandled on the ground is one of the reasons why people forget that he is hittable.

Khabib's game is ineffective when he is backing up or when he is in the middle of the cage. He does this running and punching wildly to force his opponents against the cage. Video below explains it better than I ever could.

Conor is not a Barboza. The latter is an agressive kicker. They do terrible against wrestlers because they're basically handing their opponent a leg each strike.

McGregor is a heavy handed counter puncher who fights long like a kareteka. He's got a 4 inch reach advantage over him too. It's a bad match up for Khabib.

If he does that bum rush with wild punches and knees, he's gonna wake up to the smell of Irish whiskey in the octagon.

It's gonna be a dog fight. I'm a Tony fan too. He probably has the most unconventional style in the UFC. Granite chin. Doesn't get tired. And he treats reporters like shit. What's not to like lol.

Anybody watch RIZIN Horiguchi vs Tenshin? What a fight! Not strictly MMA but Horiguchi is former UFC (7-1) with his only lost to Mighty Mouse. Tenshin is a kickboxing champ who's beaten multiple Lumpinee champs from Thailand, and also has a no loss MMA record.
