Genuinely curious. Although I've enjoyed a lot of the posts on this thread, a lot of the comments also sound eerily similar to what my liberal friends were saying about Trump ("there's no way he can win for X, Y, Z reasons").

If there are guys on this forum who would consider voting for Oprah, I think we owe it to ourselves to hear them out.

Depends entirely on her policy positions, knowledge of domestic and international affairs, if she can competently work with congress, and the content of her personal character.

Too many of you guys are hung up on her being black and a woman, like you voted for Trump simply because he is white and a man. Do intelligence, experience, skill and policies count for nothing?

Oprah is beyond hostile to men. She is as bad if not worse than Hillary in this regard. I can't see any rational reason why any male on this website would consider even 'humoring' the idea of voting for her. Her stance is clear.

As a trump supporter I would be most worried about:

1. The Rock
2. Oprah.
3. Cuban.
4. Kamala

One could make the argument that Trump's victory was due to timing and voter turnout of white men. Also poor turnout on the other side. Oprah could easily spur Obama level turnout, and I doubt policy would matter much.

There is absolutely no mainstream democrat threat. So then, if Oprah is trash, which democrat has a chance?

Otherwise we are circle jerking that nobody can beat trump.

Walking away from that speech I have no idea is she's for Medicare for all, Free College, a living wage, ending the wars overseas, stopping NSA spying, legalizing recreational marijuana.

Nice post Merc. There could very well be something to what you are saying, although because it involves the description of a spiritual law that even the most evil are compelled to follow, there is no real way to prove or disprove it.

As a speculation it rings true, and I am inclined to see truth in it until proven otherwise.

Pride on its own can explain why they act the way they do. They signal their true nature in gestures, as AB has pointed out, because they feel so superior to the rest of us, that they believe they can openly show their intentions, and we will be too dumb to figure it out on our own.

So on a deeper level, what you are saying may be true, that they are not allowed to hide completely, or openly lie, but from the perspective of each person and their own motivation, none of this may be directly in their consciousness at all.

Their own pride does all the work. Look at my super secret hand gestures that the sheeple don't understand. Ha ha.

And also, the fact that they never directly lie can be down to the plain old duper's delight, and that they are having fun playing all sorts of word game with the fools of the lower orders.

Lying is too easy for these prideful people, they want to have fun with it, and see if they can get away with a good evasion that no one is smart enough to call them on.

You are right about how consistent it is, and how it hints at something deeper, and I guess I am just thinking of ways of communicating what you are saying to people who will automatically shut down at any mention of higher realities.

When I was a political activist in the 90's, the people we were going up against were either corporations or mainstream politicians, and at first, I felt like we had no hope, because they were bigger, stronger, better funded, and more organized than we were. What chance would we have against them?

But as I read up on them, I found that almost without exception, these people always ended up bragging, in writing or an interview, about exactly the thing I wanted to prove.

It made me somewhat hopeful.

I didn't have to go after them with dueling statistics and theories.

They could be attacked using their own words.

It is an extremely odd phenomenon.

The general impression I get of Oprah over the years is that she's an extreme narcissist and probably buys into her own cult of personality as this great female guru. The sociopath meter readings are probably off the chart which is why she's also not bad at acting.

I'm a bit worried about Oprah because I remember the utter devotion of some of my American exes to her. Before social media especially, talk show hosts were like the imaginary best friends of some people, and Oprah was like a second mother to some of these confused women (now 35+). This type of woman can be described as lower middle class "conservatives" (anti-abortion, etc.) who nevertheless embrace all the New Age bullshit and of course love handouts more than anything. Oprah is like the fucking horse whisperer when it comes to communicating with this type of post-wall basic bitch. The fact that everything that comes out of her mouth is inane pablum is less interesting than her raw emotional appeal. Did not take very long now, did it? A famous liberal black man took a huge swing at her and it made headline news.

That's just a taste of what she is in for, should she continue to flirt with running for office.

She picked the wrong time to bother testing the waters. She could have at least waited until the Harvey heat died out some.
