You wont be able to stay at the funk party or be leaving the venue in a favela on an organized structured tour imo. So i wouldnt count on a snl that night.

Go to Lapa, Botafogo, Flamingo or Copa. Id stay away from Ipanema and Leblon. Those chicks are too stuckup imo. Then if you dont have a DTF female go to the place I was telling you about called The Balcony right on the strip in Copa down from the Copacabana Palace Hotel or something.

If you have no where to go just walk out to the beach with the girl and get some dome atleast.

I went home with girls late on at night during Carnival, picked both them up in the street in Lapa. The tour companies take you to the funk parties in Rochina then plant you in the VIP area of the venue where few of the Brazilians are. You can go into the general area though and even go to the party without a tour, just take a taxi to the bottom of Rochina and get pointed in the right direction. Rochina is not dangerous at all. The party closes at 3am and you'll be escorted back onto the bus and taken home if you do the tour route. Wonder how the dynamics of the favellas have changed with the drug gangs being pushed out though, could actually be more dangerous now there's no drug gangs around to control things.

This is the problem in my opinion. You're probably coming off as try-hard and desperate. You're focusing on the wrong things. Girls don't really care if you turn them on fast or slowly, or when you build attraction or DHV or whatever. If they're kissing you, then attraction is probably not your problem. What most of them ARE probably concerned about is that you're not a scumbag and that you actually give two squirts of piss about them.

Worry less about your notches and blog and more about enjoying your time with the girl you're talking to. And let her know you're enjoying it. That'll be more valuable.

I did Carnaval in Salvador, which is a completely different experience from Rio. There're literally so many people on the streets, walking 2-3 blocks takes a good 30 minutes. Pulling was more or less impossible. Hell, getting home by yourself was often impossible. There was one night though where a Brazilian girl tried to follow me home. She was pretty ugly though, so I left her on the street. Haha...

Another update: El Divino

Finally made my way to El Divino... a few times. I go on Thursdays which is hip-hop night. The music and DJ(s) are great. I've really enjoyed myself every time I have gone. The scene is definitely 25 and under. The girls get super dolled up and it is the social elite of the island. I went on a regular Thursday night and it wasn't nearly as crowded as I expected...maybe 200 people. I went on another Thursday night that was followed by a holiday which meant no school or work on Friday and it was packed. If you talk to some of the girls in the line they might have "bonus" tickets to hand out which get you in for a discount. The cover to get in before midnight with the bonus ticket is R25, after midnight R40. Without the bonus ticket I cannot say for sure but I think its in the R60-70 range. I believe the only beer they serve is Heineken and it costs R6. Don't know about mixed drinks but if Heineken is R6 you can assume. The club is layed out really nice and has a dance floor that also has a VIP section. In my opinion it is probably worth paying for the VIP bracelet so you're not stuck running game on the regular girls. Also has a huge lounge area with tables and couches that you can escape to. Stays rocking until at least 6am and the dance floor doesn't open until 12:30am.
The girls there are some of the finest I've seen. The issue with that is that they know how good they look and they are a bit "fresca" or stuck up...even to americans.

People dog on Salvador here so most would say you should hit Florianopolis but to be honest it sounds like the chances of getting laid with a Brazilian girl in Florianopolis is pretty slim since they are richer and more stuck up (as elsewhere in the south). Salvador doesn't have nearly as many hot girls, but if you find the right places to go out it is not bad and the girls are some of the nicest I've ever met anywhere. You'll have no trouble meeting girls, making out, getting digits, and if you are lucky eventually getting some ass. In contrast, Florianoplis will be much harder. Hang out in Barra or Rio Vermelho if you go to Salvador.. there are some nice clubs there with hot ass girls. Don't stay too long in the Pelourinho, except on Tuesday nights when they have a street party. Problem is that most guys just go to the Pelourinho for two nights and they get a shitty view of Salvador because of it.

Yes for sure. I agree that the NE of Brazil (Salvador included) is the best option for getting laid in Brazil; though Brasilia is pretty damn close. The hot girls in Florianapolis are a lot like the ones in Miami. So if you dont have G Manifesto or Mixx style game (and most people in this forum with myself included don't) then I don't see it being such a good option. That is unless you are cool with just taking photos and kissing hot stuckup girls. Hi, understood... to be honest though I don't care about going some place where the easy girls are - I would rather go where they are hotter if anything, most of all I care about a good party atmosphere with good things happening every night and nice weather. I live in London and party in Mayfair mostly and (if you don't know this area) it is pretty expensive and has a lot of stuck up / pretentious people - I still have fun though and meet plenty of girls there - so this is not really a problem at all for me so long as there are some nice & fun people about.

I had a great time in Floripa. I was there in February 2010. There are loads of European-looking Brazilian babes. It really helps to know Portuguese. There's a great bar scene and club scene. The best clubs will charge a cover, but it's totally worth it. Hip-hop night at one of them was truly epic. Making out is pretty much the norm after dancing to a song. Just stick around until last call and identify the chicks you want to make it happen with. You should be successful. Here are just a few pics from my time there (I don't take many pics). I've been to both, Paris and Floripa, a few times each. They are very very different places, and I say you should tell a bit more what are your priorities. What language do you prefer to learn, Portuguese or French? How is your budget? What kind of girls are you into? What kind of environment you prefer?


Random thoughts:

Paris is more expensive then Floripa. Paris is way more cosmopolitan. Paris is a big city, Floripa not so. Paris is urban, Floripa is green (beach, lakes and mountains). Parisians, as far as I know, seem to be the least receptive amongst the French. People in Floripa are open and cool enough. Paris has way more nightlife options, Floripa's nightlife is quite limited.

Both have very pretty girls in my opinion.

You ought to tell us your main interests so you are better guided.

I really want to go to Brazil because everything about it seems cool. The weather, beaches, and culture. When it comes down to it though I like metro areas and Western Euro looking women, but doesn't Florianopolis have western euro looking women, or is it more exotic? Aslo, from what I have heard, French guys are assholes and pussies.

A reason I am considering Paris is because it seems more like the US. I know it is vey different, but there are a lot of similarities. I guess the two most important aspects for me are women and nightlife. From what I am writing it seems like Paris would be the obvious choice, but something about Brazil keeps drawing me in.
