What's being talked about now is that he didn't have much left at the time of his death. The mansion hasn't been his for many years, and is in need of repair. The magazine is facing the fate of Rolling Stone. Some people put up the optics for the sake of their businesses, its basically just business. Who knows whats true and whats not.

Whatever you think, he was a brilliant businessman who pushed the boundaries of free speech, for lots of people. I think most of the stories about him being such a playboy, only served as marketing for the magazine. If I am in total agreement with Leonard D Neubache then something is really amiss. Look Mr Hefner is not perfect , but he made a magazine with pictures of hot naked women, he had sex with 1000's of hot naked women, he became wealthy as a direct result of hot naked women, he lived in a mansion where he had every kind of sex possible with hot naked women, and partied like a rockstar. He built and maintained an empire that at one point included casinos , hotels, a 747, a cable channel in addition to his flagship magazine. Sure he did some things I did not like (supporting feminism) but he did a lot more I did like (supporting integration, pictures of hot college pussy, interviews with great men, Playboy TV, ect.). No one is perfect , but he added more positives to my life than negatives. I respect Mr Hefner and if I could pull off what he did I absolutely would. Obviously dishonest question that ignores the fact of only being married to one person at a time with many obligations upon both parties. With whores, the only obligation is money for sex, but with wives, the obligations are for love (loyalty, sacrifice, and sex), care (spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally), and money. That because money is common to both renders both equal is a reductionist absurdity.

Moreover, the woman in marriage is not entitled to any certain payments like a whore negotiates for. A woman in marriage gets whatever the man earns; if he does not have large income she is not entitled to find a new man to negotiate for better. Likewise the man is not entitled to negotiate for younger, hotter, and tighter wife.
