I was researching this flat earth theory for a while until I understood the psychology behind people who make these theories.

Most of these people are Christians who want to prove that Bible is literary correct. So they say there must be an actual firmament like described in Bible and so on.

There is a deeper issue however - contemporary Christians in general and Flat Earth theorists particularly want their World to be small.

These are people who are used to a certain order and are challenged by thought of infinite universe and/or infinite spiritual development like in Yogic traditions. Some of them are good traditional and conservative people, but they are still close minded. They want all the world and all the questions to be explained in a single book, all the morality to be prescribed by a single church or institution, all the spiritual growth to be limited to surrendering it to a single savior figure.

I and most people who would actually prefer a round earth want our World to be Big. We want there to be never ending perspectives, endless horizons, endless mysteries to solve, endless borders to overcome. People like that are likely to be atheists in love with science and logical reasoning and/or practitioners of Yoga and more esoteric spiritual paths that do not limit the spiritual practice to worship of a single savior, instead offering limitless space for spiritual development and limitless expansion of consciousness.

Basically it boils down to person's bio survival and territorial neurological circuits - whether the person has a regressive attitude and wants to cuddle back into the mother's womb or a progressive attitude and wants lo leave the womb and go and explore the infinite universe.

I would be very disappointment if the earth would actually turn out to be flat and it's a good thing that despite these theories most of evidence, logic and common sense proves earth is round.

A few years ago I would have dismissed a lot of theories but when you start examining the 'truths' you find that the explanations for a lot of things don't go far enough.
It's okay to call a skeptic crazy but I think everyone should spend a little while asking questions.
How many people who believe in a round Earth know that the first photograph of the earth (a tiny part of the surface) was apparently only captured as recently as the 1930s by a balloon. What about NASA using materials on their space craft that very particularly would never withstand the conditions in space. Optimistic estimates of a successful human lunar landing and return were put at 1 chance for and 6000 chances against. The guy who wrote a comprehensive report on the feasibility of this died shortly after submitting it and it has never been publicly released.
How are space walks possible when the international space station travels at 5 miles per second?
Nearly 100℅ of the ocean floor is unexplored yet apparently the Hubble telescope can detect objects that are 13,4 billion light years away.
The first dinosaur was scientifically described in 1824, yet no traditional human societies in the places where discoveries have been made even have such a species (rather discoveries of their fossils) recorded in their own history.

Wow, that's earlier then I thought - I didn't even knew it was done prior to launching a satellite capable of taking photo's into space. If it's possible to see earth's curvature from a mere baloon is it not evidence for round earth?

All speed is relative. Your mentioned 5 miles per second - is it relative to other space craft? Earth? Moon? Sun? Solar system barycentre? Sirius?
To visit space station you must accelerate to it's speed relative to earth's using math and engines.

The unexplored objects of ocean floor are small, the big underwater mountains and ravines are known. Hubble telescope only detects huge objects many light years away like stars and clusters, not objects like crabs and turtles on ocean surface. Larger objects are visible from further distance - that is called perspective.

Before 19th century people didn't use scientific method too often and had no little interest in archeology and paleontology - sciences that became a thing slowly and gradually from 18th to 20th century. Before that people just didn't collect the bones miners found and didn' try to reconstruct skeletons from these bones. If people did found some weird bones in the past they probably attributed it to dragon's or whatever they imagined.

I am not a total skeptic - I believe there are some things we thing wrong about the world, but flat earth is probably not such a thing and if you want to present arguments then you better present something serious, not just such silly arguments that make me think you lack basic understanding about science, technology, logic and history.

It is the 1st press conference after the Apollo 11 crew return from their "journey to the moon". It lasts more than an hour....something is seriously wrong here with these guys.

They were lauded by the press and the world as heroes of humanity, but the astronauts look uncomfortable, nervous, confused, fidgety and have weird body language, uncomfortable laughter and long pauses before replying to simple questions.

Again it's grasping straws.

Those people are astronauts not showmen, politicians or other kind of public speakers - also they have just made a hard and risky journey to another world and spent weeks in quarantine after return. They are dead tired, just lucky to get a shower, a sleep in normal bed and to take a piss in a normal toilet where the piss actually falls down and doesn't floats around in your eyes. What do you expect of them?

It would be more suspicious that they faked the whole thing and got normal sleep all the time, if they were smiling and cracking jokes.

I really do not understand the immediate emotional hostility of many people towards this idea. I mean...most of us discovered game and the red pill because we noticed we had been lied to our whole lives about the true nature of women and how to act with them.

We went to seek the truth and asked other men their experiences with women and then we started comparing our ideas and experiences on many other topics right here on this forum and it emerged that many, many things we were taught were totally wrong. Thats why we took the red pill.

So, in this case, I want people to consider how they really know the earth is round. How can we, who have never travelled into space know this for certain ? How many people have actually seen all of antarctica from above ?

I love kooky shit like this. I am not even hating on them - since most of us just blindly regurgitate what we have being told by experts.

Very few of us have the knowledge and ability to prove a lot of the things we 'believe' in a rigorous way from first principles.

Here's some background on the history of modern Flat Earth Societies, apparently it was some fringe movement started by an Englishman named Samuel Rowbotham in the 1800s, apparently it was based in part on some fringe interpretation of the Bible; I think one of the arguments is that Jesus could not have ascended "up" into heaven if the earth was round, since there would be no "up or down", or something silly like that.

I've been to the website before, some of them might be true believers, though a lot of them seem more like internet trolls just doing a parody.

The problem with a lot of 'conspiracy theorists' though is that they're really not 'open minded', they may be outside of the mainstream but they just think like their own little hivemind. For example they'll just brush off any criticism of their ideas by saying there's a "media conspiracy" to censor them, and just write off anyone who disagrees with them as a "sheep" who only listens to MSM.

The fact that official narrative has lied about many things does not mean it lies about all things.

I admit I have never been in space and I don't know if the earth is round or not from direct experience. However the round earth model has no "plotholes" and it allows me to explain many phenomena. Flat earth model has many "plotholes" and raises many questions and doesn't help to explain anything.

The only people who feel that flat earth explains something are people who believe in Bible literally and blindly and they seek something to explain how it's description of creation is correct. Since I don't believe in a literal interpretation of Bible I don't feel that Flat earth theory explains anything at all - it only creates confusion and useless questions while the world keeps revolving physically and metaphorically despite that.

The analogy of red pill and nature of women is a false one at least in my experience.

The official narrative about nature of women aroused many questions and doubts in me from a very early age - it frustrated me and whenever I tried to follow the official model - i got hit on head by reality that increased my resentment and frustration.

The red pill model about the nature of women leaves gives me peace and serenity - it doesn't frustrate me it doesn't cause me to collide with reality, it allows me to control my life and predict the result of my interactions with women with a high degree of accuracy. It allows me to change my life to make it more successful.

However I don't see how it would be similar if I rejected the round world model and accepted the flat earth model? Would it lessen my frustration about the world? Would it give me inner peace? Would it allow me to predict future events more precisely? Would it allow me to be more successful in any area of my life?

When I look to these questions I must answer all of them with a No.
If I changed my beliefs about shape of earth it would either make no difference in my life or even cause a negative effect making me unable to cope with modern technology that works by using the fact that earth is round. Flat earth is also not as compatible as round earth with my beliefs in reincarnation and evolution of consciousness, which are also concepts hidden by official narrative.

The only thing compatible with a flat earth is a close minded Bible-thumpher worldview about how we all are just ants under glass(firmament) for some big cosmic entity. I find no appeal and no credibility in that.

Therefore I remain a user of a round earth model in my head.

Nobody has responded to you emotionally in this thread. Maybe you are confusing your own for others.

I agree with you that some science is total bullshit(mainly social science) but this is not one of them. If you look at with an objective instead of skeptical eye you can see this.

How do you explain the round appearance of other planets and the sun? You can't tell me you've never looked through a telescope.

How do you explain gravity and gravitational pull if the world is flat instead round?

Why would all these hundreds of people lie over something as insignificant as the world being round?

Why did navigation and sailing improve so much once the world was seen as round instead of flat?

I'm sure there are plenty more areas I'm forgetting. I understand where you're coming from but sometimes there just isn't a fight or isn't anything to be skeptical about.

How many of you have actually stared directly into the sun for more than 1 minute with fully open eyes ?

For last few weeks I have started staring directly into the sun at different times of the day for 2 to 4 minutes at a time and when you do that the sun starts to look real different. I'm shortsighted and my eyesight is actually getting better.

If I was supposed to go blind it would have already happened after all these weeks. But the opposite is happening. My eyesight is getting better and I can see the sun as a much smaller and closer ball in the sky. Many old cultures did this. It's called sungazing.

At the start I could only do it by squinting a bit for very short amounts of time, but the more days passed and more I did it, the easier it became. My eyes started getting used to it and adjusting.

I encourage everyone to try staring directly into the sun with eyes fully open for at least 5 to 15 seconds and post back here what exactly you see. Stop as soon as you feel uncomfortable...they try again later or the next day. Make it a slow gradual process.


Let's see if our expierences are the same.

First you only addressed one of my points. I'm pretty sure that video showed that the sun was round as well. I should have known trying to get into an argument with a conspiracy aspie.

Just know that I'll be happy living a life of fucking girls and living in comfort and joy. The only way you will experience that is if that no FAP gives you a mind equal to Professor X's while you stare at the sun trying to absorb the Flat Earth's energy to have Superman's powers with Lazer eyes from the Flat Sun's rays and the ability to reserrect threads from the underworld.

Attitudes like yours and personal insults on me is what keeps men from developing their knowledge and discussing things seriously.

I don't have all the answers, nor do I claim to have proof.

Im asking questions and providing my own evidence of things that seem to show that we have been told is not quite right.

On a general level it's way easier to prove the earth is flat than to prove it's round. For the round model you have to go into outer space....but for the flat model all you have to do is travel to edge by boat....which I will post about now below.

In December 1938 Hitler's Nazi Germany sent an expedition to claim a large piece of territory in Antarctica. They called it "Neu Swabia". In reality in seems they were looking for the edge of the firmament (force field) that surrounds the entire flat earth.

Then in 1946/1947 the USA sent their expedition to the same area. This time they sent 13 ships and 4700 men. They too were looking for the area the Germans had claimed and possibly the edge of the force field. There was a naval battle and many deaths and several planes and 1 ship were apparently destoyed. It was called "Operation Highjump" and was lead by Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd, Jr.

Looking at Sun for a short time can bring health benefits according to Yogic teachings. Just don't overdo it.
According to those same Vedic traditions Earth is round and there are billions of worlds and gods trough.

Of all the conspiracy theories flat earth is the most boring one - if you are smart enough to understand that it excludes aliens and a lot of other fun cryptic and weird stuff. if you believe in a flat earth and aliens simultaneously then you probably believe in anything you are told and have no critical thinking.

Also, I doubt that Yogic teachings are as simple as stare in the fucking sun for ... seconds. There are probably necessary preparations for that known only in their circles.

In a serous Yoga class - even the simple asanas you see people doing in every modern fitness center - should not be done without proper mental and moral preparation.

Sun gazing is not some occult knowledge hidden under seven seals and guarded by few zealous ninjas hidden in Hymalayas - but it is also not something you do without a lot of research, an experienced teacher and other simultaneous practices in other fields of like - like proper diet, exercise, breathing, mindfulness, thinking, leading a moral life.

N.B. All Yogic sungazing is to be done during sunset and sunrise - as far as I know no one recommends doing it at full noon.

Hey Mercenary take care of the eyes. Seriously though I bet the sun doesn't look like it's 93 million miles away does it? I've never tried gazing at it. What if the sun is "within" the Earth or just a few miles above. that would be fascinating . How will we ever find out, if space exploration is tightly controlled by a small group of people.
Brilliant people at least because within 7 years NASA went from completing the first manned space flight a few miles above Earth for a mere 15 minutes, to then sending men on an approximately 480 000 mile long round trip to the moon and back over 8 days. All went faultlessly in outer space, despite the various problems and failures experienced during pre-mission testing.

The problem with Flat Earth Theory is that it presupposes quite a lot. I won't go into the MANY reasons why a Flat Earth couldn't be possible but I'll take the devil's approach and put up some of the points that are certainly interesting and worth considering as “noteworthy” arguments.

The Foundation of Flat Earth
I'll start at the ground level with how the Earth itself is seen at different heights. If one were for example to look at the land surrounding them and the land was mostly featureless(no mountains, hills, no depressions) the earth would appear to be quite flat. The same would occur if one were standing on the tallest sky scraper or the tallest mountain on the Earth. It would again still appear to be flat. Even at 40,000 feet above land (while flying) the Earth would still appear flat at eye level. The first man to enter the stratosphere August Piccard declared that the Earth "seemed a flat disk with upturned edge". It was recorded he went as high as ten miles into the sky.



The Earth's Curvature
Now in regards to the curvature of the Earth here is what Google has to say; Using the theorem of Pythagoras a2= 39632+ 12= 15705370 and thus a = 3963.000126 miles. Thus your position is 3963.000126 - 3963 = 0.000126 miles above the surface of the earth. 0.000126 miles = 12*5280*0.000126 = 7.98 inches.

So for every mile you will get 8 inches of curvature roughly speaking. Using one of the calculators available on the web I punched in how much curvature could be expected over a distance of 60 miles standing at an eye level of 6 feet. The calculation comes out to 2100 feet of curvature. The second tallest tower the Shanghai Tower would be completely obscured to me at that distance as it is 2073 feet tall. Flat Earth Theory states that this is not true and points to some anecdotal evidence, for example:

Most Popular Flat Earth Model
Now lets take a look at their views regarding what the Earth looks like in their model. How for example does a flat earth theorist account for circumnavigation around the globe? So far this is the most popularized model of the Earth that FE theorists point to to demonstrate how circumnavigation is possible on a flat model and I urge you not to laugh:





The Sun and Moon
So that covers the mainstream view of the what the Earth looks like to most Flat Earth Theorists, now what about the Sun, the Moon and the rest of the universe with all the planets and celestial objects within the cosmos. For this the best way I can describe it in their terms is with Plato's “Allegory of The Cave” analogy. We see the sun and the moon as round therefore the Earth must be round also is what they claim is a logical error. To them the sun and moon are not celestial objects hundreds of thousands, or in the case of the Sun 93,000,000 miles away but instead sits 70-80 miles over a transparent dome that encapsulates the lands of the Earth and is synonymous to what is known in scriptures as the “Firmament”.

What could possibly support some of these outlandish views?

The Stars and Other Planets

The North Star
Polaris, the North Star never moves. All the stars visible from the Earth appear to revolve around Polaris leaving Polaris at the center. The idea is if the Earth rotates the Sun and the Sun rotates the Milky Way this is impossible, all stars including Polaris would move in all sorts of directions relative to our view of the sky:

These are at the very least some clever arguments. I'll give them that. But their arguments are undone by footage of satellites and space stations, astronauts doing live interviews while in space and many other arguments. A good mental exercise though!
