Something similar happens to each US President shortly after he takes the office - someone decides to just offer a little shit to see what sort of man they're really dealing with. Obama would do everything but declare war and so every nation in the world knows he never had the balls to stand behind his threats of red lines and so on.

Trump has calmly said to Russia, "If you want to throw rocks, we will throw rocks back." Proportional escalation, in other words: no histrionics (as Hillary surely would have done) threatening dire consequences, just a plain old hitting the ball back. Supposedly, this form of retaliation was one of the more effective ways of garrisoning in Iraq: you didn't shoot the kid who was throwing rocks at your guys, you threw rocks back until he decided to up the ante.

(In passing: in the famous "Sit Room" photo of Obama and friends watching as the Osama kill mission goes down, the guy is crouched over like he wants to be anywhere else but there. If you asked a stranger who'd been living on a tropical island for a year or two to spot the President of the US in that room, I doubt anyone would've pointed at Barry. That's the sort of guy Obama was.)

I agree with, Paracelsus. As much as I would like to see the United States and Russia get along, I wouldn't want to see that at the expense of Trump having to roll over for Putin. Putin wouldn't respect Trump for rolling over, anyway.





It'll be hilarious to watch as Old Media speaks with its forked tongue from both sides of its mouth, first by accusing Trump and Putin of some secret alliance, then pulling a 180 and fear-mongering about the prospect of nuclear war. Trump pushing back on Putin a little bit is nothing to worry about, especially when you consider the fact that Crooked Hillary would've actually gotten us into World War III over her proposed decision to invoke "no-fly zones" over Syrian airspace.

I've had some Bernie/Hillary friend throw the nuclear tweet in my face and I just pointed out that it isn't something new since Trump has spoken over and over during his campaign about the need to keep our military strong. They asked me why I wasn't concerned about an arms race being started out and I said I would be if all the military buildup was combined with Hillary's foreign policy.

An argument I would recommend that rest of you guys use if someone calls you on something similar is to say that Trump's talk about military is more about deterrence (speak softly and carry a big stick) while Clinton's would have looked for a more active role in US affairs would led to more of the mess we've seen in the Middle East in the last decade.

Liberals don't seem to understand the concept of "peace through strength." When people know you're not going to just let someone push you around, they're far more likely to look for an easier mark. The goal then, is to give off the distinct impression of being someone you wouldn't want to fuck with. This isn't done so you can bully others, it's done so you can prevent being bullied yourself.

Yes, want to know why liberals hate the NRA so much? because unlike other faction of the conservative movement, the NRA makes itself clear that if you fuck with them they will not hesitate to push one million times harder.

Add, "Only a person who routinely engages in murderous fantasies over mere words assumes that war is caused by violent rhetoric." Ask for a list of the last ten wars the US has been involved in, and ask to prove how violent rhetoric started that war, as opposed to an opportunistic grab for power.

Let's be real though: the United States is belligerently building missile defense installations hard up on Russian borders. The US is the aggressor, not Russia. It is in this light that Russia's "aggressive" ICBM modernization efforts have to be seen. The Russians are not driving an arms race, on the contrary, they are turning the other cheek by responding to America's brazen and threatening actions by investing in their own capabilities instead of escalating towards nuclear war.

Because let's be honest: if the Russians were building missile-defense facilities on the US-Mexican border that threatened the deterrent ability of the US nuclear arsenal, the US would not respond by calmly investing in new rockets to overcome the Russian defense system. The US would escalate the situation politically up to and including an all out strategic thermonuclear exchange that destroys the world as we know it.

Strategic Missile Defense is not a defensive concept. It is the most destabilizing offensive investment possible, as it basically says to Russia or China or whomever: MAD is over, we can wipe you off the face of the world at the push of a button and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Now kneel and suck our dicks like a good slave. And make sure to sell off your banking system and major media to our (((friends))) while you're at it.

Putin needs to do everything in his power to keep MAD in effect, because Trump isn't going to lead the USA forever and demographic trends make it almost certain that the long term leadership of the USA will fall back in the hands of globalist scum. The last thing we need is globalist-controlled USA free to wreak havoc across the world without even the restraint of MAD to stay its hand.

I don't disagree with anything you say. It's obvious the Obama administration is happy to provoke the Russians for no good reason. But if we do get in a war with Russia because Obama went all Leroy Jenkins, well... I'm still going to fight for the US if necessary. This is what we get for electing such an awful, America-hating person as president.

In my opinion we need to get out of the business of defending Europe to begin with. Help them? Sure, why not, if they carry their weight. There is strategic value to having bases and access to Europe. But I'm sick of Europe hiding behind our might and using that privilege to stab us in the back.

Putin has also said he's not worried about Mr. Trump's words, because it's nothing he hasn't said plenty of times before. It's not some new level of aggression. I think once the God Emperor ascends, it won't be too long before Russia and the US find common ground and goals. This general anti-Russian mania the people older than about 40 have has got to end. We have a lot more in common with Russia than with the neckchoppers.

Jews have hard and soft power in the United States. You don't get to the top without their support, or at least not crossing them. The idea that Trump lives his whole life in New York City and doesn't have Jewish support is nonsense.

Sadly, that will probably mean some neoconservative nonsense in terms of foreign policy if he's not careful. He will have to work hard to ensure hawks don't undermine his America First policies.
