Trump's Roast of Hillary at the Al Smith Dinner

Absolutely savage.

This cements Trump as a traitor to his class and removes no doubt about his utter contempt for the "elites" in this country who are really no more than the corrupt tyrants of the modern age.

Trump has sided with the American people. We must deliver him to his rightful place as our President.

RE: Trump's Roast of Hillary at the Al Smith Dinner
FROM THE STATUE OF LIBERTY TO MELANIA'S COPY CAT SPEECH... CLINTON AND TRUMP'S ZINGERS

Trump

'Some people think this would be tough for me, but the truth is I'm actually a modest person. Very modest. Many people tell me that modesty is perhaps my best quality, even better than my temperament.'

'Tonight's event, or as I call it, a small, intimate dinner with some friends. Or, as Hillary calls it, her largest crowd of the season.'

'Last night, I called Hillary a 'nasty woman. This stuff is all relative. After listening to Hillary rattle on and on, I don't think so badly of Rosie O'Donnell anymore. In fact, I'm actually starting like Rosie a lot.'

'We have proven that we can actually be civil to each other. In fact, just before taking the Dias, Hillary accidentally bumped into me and she, very civilly, said: "Pardon me." And I, very politely, said: "Let me talk to you about that after I get into office."

'Michelle Obama made a speech and everyone loves it, it's fantastic. My wife, Melania, gives the exact same speech. And people get on her case. And I don't get it. I don't know why. And it wasn't her fault. Stand up, Melania, come on.'

Clinton

'This is such a special event that I took a break from my rigorous nap schedule to be here.'

'Mortal enemies, bitter foes, I've gotta ask, how did you get the governor and the mayor here together?'

'people look at the Statue of Liberty and they see a proud symbol of our history as a nation of immigrants, a beacon of hope for people around the world. Donald looks at the Statue of Liberty and sees a four. Maybe a five if she removes the torch and tablet and changes her hair.'

'Donald wanted me drug tested before last night's debate. I am so flattered that Donald thought I used some sort of performance enhancer. Now actually, I did. It's called preparation.'

‘And you know because this is a friendly dinner for such a great cause, Donald, if at any time you don't like what I'm saying, feel free to stand up and shout “wrong” while I'm talking. You know, come to think of it, it’s amazing I'm up here after Donald. I didn’t think he'd be OK with a peaceful transition of power.'

It's strange to see them both in the same room together laughing. I'd imagine with their bad blood, the tension must be palpable.

One of my favorite bible stories as a kid was when Samson brings down the temple.

I could not help that image while I watched him speak, the media elites booing him, while others were red and shiny with sweat. The future of Donald Trump will be a story to tell our children and grandchildren, with this dinner as one of those pivotal moments.

The booing and yelling made it even better.

Imagine the impotent rage flowing through all those media cucks while he was laying into Liddle Hill.

The "pardon me" joke and the Melania joke were spectacular. I thought he was a little too aggressive in attacking Hillary, however, and at one point I cringed and paused the stream. I would have preferred him to go for laughs, instead of going for the jugular. Maybe that's just me....clearly he didn't care so much what the crowd thought of his comments.

RE: Trump's Roast of Hillary at the Al Smith Dinner
It would have been a mistake not to start machinegunning the hall. One of the main things Trump has going for him is authenticity. If he'd gone through the dinner without ripping some strips off Clitiron, you'd have had the media saying "Trump strangely calm and friendly to Clinton during dinner".

Optics matter: bad enough that Don is dressed in the same tuxedo as the pieces of shit around him. If he had made nice with them across the whole dinner, the impression he would have left with you, me, and any independent watching would have been that his ripping of the establishment is not genuine -- that once you put him in the same room as the privileged elite he morphs back into one of them. He would have contracted, in visual form, Hilary's public position/private position problem of hypocrisy.

Fortunately, Trump went offensive -- in more ways than one -- and obliterated those optics. He preserved his role as the champion of the people.

Don't mistake this dinner as an apolitical event. It wasn't. The fact they didn't shake hands indicates it, and the fact Bill Clinton was absent proves it. Keeping Cigar Bill out was Hilary's risk mitigation strategy for this dinner, partially because it makes her look more independent of him, but mainly because she and/or her campaign see her rapist husband as the biggest albatross around her neck -- far moreso than Wikileaks.

Friends, this was the fourth election debate. It was a chance for either candidate to rub out any problematic results of the third. Trump capitalised on that. Hilary didn't, because Trump refused to just play like one of the crowd. And the people in that room helped him in that success, specifically because they couldn't keep their hatred under wraps and booed him.

Remissas, discite, vivet.

I got the chance to meet the people who are working SO HARD to get Hillary elected, and there they are...
*points them out in the crowd*

The heads of NBC, CNN, CBS, ABC, there's the New York Times right over there, and the Washington Post.

They're working over-time! It's True!

It felt to me that Trump was returning the scorn and derision the elites have been giving to the people for the past 8 years.

RE: Trump's Roast of Hillary at the Al Smith Dinner
Consistent shitposting and barragement of deserving newbies and trolls aside, I don't go looking for conflict very often on the forum.

This is why I haven't been vocal at all about my lack of faith in Trump. I'm not from the US, so I'm not a voter, so my opinion means very little, but I'm not the type to simply assume (regardless of his best of intentions) that Trump will be able to fix America. It's a massive task and there are some very powerful forces that depend on ensuring that his vision of America does not come to pass.

Of course, if I was a US voter, I would nominally support him and vote for him on account of the fact that Clinton is clearly a corrupt lying fuck-head, but I wouldn't be holding my breath for big change if he was elected.

That said, displays like this are the reason why I have a standing ticket reservation on the Trumptrain.

You can't help but admire the size of the balls on this man.

While my stance on Trump (or anyone else) as president is that I'd rather wait and see, rather than get excited and risk disappointment, Trump's accomplishments alone in this election cycle are reason to get excited.

Trump has single handedly given a massive middle finger to the corrupt and colluding media and political systems in the US of A.

Win or lose on election day, I'm convinced that Trump will make an impact in the future. How much one man can achieve (even as president) is unclear, especially in the current system, but I actually think that if he does not win this election, he may be able to have an even bigger impact as a private citizen.

With his wealth and resources he could achieve goals that men like us could only fantasize about. Do you think he'll forget about the media's shrill behavior during this election cycle? Win or lose, Trump is going to be out for blood and he'll be able to make the media pay with or without the Whitehouse.

I anticipate that Trump will win, mainly because I don't believe that the polls are designed to analyze an election year with so many first time voters. The very fact that Clinton can't even fill small rooms for her rallies tells me everything I need to know.

I'd encourage every man here to continue working on himself, because even with a Trump win, it will take time to make significant progress for the common man. But by the same token, there is plenty to look forward to on a national stage no matter what the outcome of this election is.

I'm the King of Beijing!

RE: Trump's Roast of Hillary at the Al Smith Dinner
Trump did best, for once, Trump started soft funny, like he was part of the crowd, they were laughing with him, then turn offensive, the part where he says "Hillary pretending not to hate Catholics" is great, most of the Hillary attacks against Trump are the same thing you listen from her all the time at every debate, nothing new was said.

When he point at the media and call them by name was great, his supporters watching that will see him as a renegade of the rich, an more importantly, he does not have to do this, he could be at home on his luxury apartment having sex with his pretty wife, but no, he took the fight.

Hillary on the other hand can't for the love of God sound genuine, and her last part of the speech was the same feel good crap she says when she knows the cameras are rolling.

RE: Trump's Roast of Hillary at the Al Smith Dinner
Impressive, how D. Trump can play cat and mouse with important, powerful people... like, how he put the Cardinal Dolan ill at ease and on the defensive when stating how Hillary "hates Catholics" by her own admission, but later on, he won the warm applause of said Cardinal by saying: "Your buildings are better than mine, but then, nobody can beat God's hand"... true mastering, the way Trump toys with political opponents or bystanders.

Trump also brought an extraordinarily-rare true smile, I mean actually looking genuine, in Hillary, by joking that she drew her record crowd tonight... Hillary actually sincerely laughed - without opening her mouth 150 degrees, a non-reptilian smile: I was impressed. Give Trump 5 minutes alone with Hillary, he would de-possess her real good, no need for Cardinal Dolan's holy water.

Anyway, it was a win-win, a positive event for both candidates, both showing an ability to joke with fierce adversaries. A biggest win for D. Trump though, for Trump took a bigger risk by going there with an unfriendly crowd surrounding him: bigger the risk, bigger the win. Trump willingly walked into the trap, came out of it victorious!

Patting her knee, shaking her hand? Anyway, she likes it, a lot (even though who knows, tomorrow she'll claim assault?):

It's funny that you should mention that.

Today I was struck between the parallels between Trump and Moses, and not as some sort of untarnished endorsement.

Moses was not some Ghandi-esque character leading his people meekly with quiet dignity. He was something of a bad motherfucker with a temper the size of his incredible balls.

It would have been wild if at the end of the third debate Trump had turned to Hillary and said, "Pharaoh, let my people go!"
