Trump did well but not as well as I think he needed to, getting hung up on the birther stuff I think will really hurt him and the media is going to be slamming that one down our throats until election day and I guarantee they call him on it again in the next debates. As per usual, the democratic candidate got a pass on their mistakes (god there are just to many to name with Hillary). All they had to go on with Trump was his tax returns, the birther thing and the Iraq war thing and I don't believe he defended himself well on them by spending way to much time denying and arguing over them.

I'm in no way swayed and know that Hillary will ruin this country, but the less intelligent probably saw her as the more reasonable candidate tonight, the media will portray her as the more truthful one given Donald's claims on the birther thing and I do agree he will probably still see a dip in the polls.

Damn guys I'm legit worried, I was hoping Hillary would be half dead with all the talk of her sickness but she looked very on her game tonight. I think if Trump does well in the next debate he might be able to turn it around but if the polls are accurate and this race is really that close, he can't afford to only win the first 20 minutes of the next two debates again.

I'll give Gary credit for one thing; unlike many libertarians, he's not a complete sperg who stands in the corner prattling on about bullshit issues no one cares about like Bitcoin. He's practical enough to actually accomplish something, having been a fairly well-liked governor.

That said, can the LP really not find a single person who's able to competently articulate libertarian philosophy? Whenever Johnson talks, he either sounds like a stammering incoherent idiot, or makes some cringe-worthy appeal to SJW sensibilities that alienates anyone who would ever consider voting Libertarian.

Regardless, he's still worth a vote in my opinion, if for no other reason than to make a statement against the current duopoly.

RE: The 9/26 Presidential Debate Thread
I just realized some things.

I cringed during the Republican primaries a lot also.

Then the can't Stump the Trump guy would put out a video highlighting Trump's killshots or main points and I'd feel a lot better.

At the same time, no matter how badly I thought he did, his numbers rose.

I guess we'll see how it goes but I expect the media to jump on everything that isn't 100% factual.

We were meant for far more than to suffer in our self created prisons only to die alone. It doesn't have to be that way. It never did.

Donald and Hillary can be president. And you seem happy with that.

I can't for the life of me figure out why you guys are so happy about this. It breaks my mind that Americans have the choices of Trump and Clinton. And you guys are all out in full force for one or the other and are excited about it.

Those two are the best we have to fix America? Jesus H.

You certainly are entitled to your opinion and it's perfectly valid to not like Trump, but I'm finding it hard to take your disapproval of him seriously when your candidate of choice is two IQ points away from being legally retarded.
At the very least, he's not a liar.

He supports TPP and open borders, you have no argument based on those two facts alone.

"How will you solve race relations in America? You have two minutes"

Yes, let me solve race relations in just two minutes, that's easy. Fuck, I hate stupid questions like this so much.

I hate that these debates are not about discussing policies but just about who can better spout meaningless rehearsed cliche soundbites and character attacks, which is all that Hillary did.

I've voted on all those polls that were posted a few pages back and Trump was winning on every single one, that's good.

RE: The 9/26 Presidential Debate Thread
Donald needs to stop going on tangents about shit that doesn't really matter. He came out swinging hard on trade and TPP. He was right to do it.

He needs to stop talking about all of the money he's made.

When they talked about Russia and hacking, I don't remember what he said, but I do know that he failed to mention the lax security measures the Clintons have had from day one. He didn't point out that everything the Clintons touch is rife with security shortcomings.

He initially hit her hard over the emails, but then he dropped the ball when he got distracted on one of his tangents.

Not once did he mention the Clinton Foundation.

Emails, TPP, Benghazi, Clinton Foundation, immigration. He should have attacked on each point relentlessly.

Regardless of whether the debate was stacked against him, he lost frame control.

I still support the guy, he got in a few good licks, but overall, I'm not too impressed by tonight's performance.

His path to victory involves her having a meltdown. He needs to work toward that goal, not talking about interviews with Howard Stern.

I get your general premise, but you have to understand that we aren't going to pre-welfare state, pre federal income tax, pre regulations, gold standard America in even 2 terms, let alone the snap of the finger you seem to be looking for. We're in this mess because of over 100 years of incremental bullshit being heaped on us. At this point we're too far gone to expect someone like Johnson and Ron Paul to ever be electable.

The ship has to slow down and stop first, before it can traverse that giant turning circle so it can face the right direction again, and maybe when the paradigm has shifted, more ideologically pure candidates can be viable again.

I hate to doubt Trump. The one time I doubted him was when he released the picture proving Miss Cruz to be a crackhead. Seemed a little too mean. I was wrong.

The "stop and frisk" thing is the worst blunder of the campaign.

I'm pretty far to the right, but stop and frisk makes me think "cop finger fucking asshole looking for weed." Save for the fact I'm white.

Trump was starting to do better with blacks, I think he shot himself in the foot with that bullshit.

We'll see, I was dead wrong about the Heidi Cruz thing.

Here's the thing. He appears to truly believe in stop and frisk, because he truly believes it will stop blacks killing blacks, and lives being lost. If he threw that out the window, I'd have alot less faith in the man because it would show he's putting his desire to get elected over what he truly believes in. He only needs a 10% vote from the black community. I don't think tonight has hurt that chance.

RE: The 9/26 Presidential Debate Thread
Couple things:

About half of the debate questions were basically Democrat talking points. Trump's key platforms -- the wall, immigration, Obamacare -- were left out.

I watched the debate on television with my parents. They are pro-Trump, but not the most informed people. They are hard working people who immigrated to Canada, but they don't know a lot of the small details about Trump that we do. They thought that Trump was being baited by Hillary into interrupting her and this looked bad, however, they also thought Clinton's lines sounded extremely canned, that the moderator was biased, and that Trump looked very solid when he talked about how over 200 generals and admirals endorsed him.

When Trump talked about Mar-a-Lago, we, on this forum know, what he is talking about, but the average voter doesn't know that he was talking about being one of the first clubs in Palm Beach to stop practicing racial discrimination. I thought Trump didn't clarify this point very well. To the average person who doesn't know the full story it just sounds like ramble. Secondly, during the discussion about temperament, Trump seemed to make reference to the recent video of Clinton shouting, "Why aren't I 50 points ahead?" Again, we know about this video, but a lot of people -- certainly my parents -- don't. It would help if Trump clearly stated, "What about the video where you are screaming, 'Why aren't I 50 points ahead?'" so that viewers could know what he is referencing. That video turned off so many men, and it would be great if he could point more people its way.

All in all, Trump's good points were talking about endorsements, talking about jobs, and talking about how the Dems use the black community for votes without doing much for them. He held his own against Hillary, and this is big. I just hope in the next two debates Trump will be very clear in what he is referencing and will focus more on his message of making America great again.

Same here. I was definitely one of those people that was losing hope every time Trump would perform poorly in a debate. But as we saw that didn't matter in the end.

A little bit of encouragement, despite the MSM constantly pointing out the CNN poll that said Hilary won the debate, looks like most of the other polls are not agreeing.

I didn't like the stop and frisk thing either, I know he meant that he wants to keep poor minority communities safe from criminals, be they black or white or latino or whatever, which is a good thing, but I don't know if that's what your average black person heard, or if they're thinking "there you go, whites out to get us". I think one of his problems is that he has good ideas but sometimes doesn't express them well enough or detailed enough.

Stop and Frisk works. If its not a good strategy, it's only ,because the general population has absorbed too many unfounded PC beliefs.

As for Trump's weaknesses, he is actually human. He's been called everything from the Savior of Man, down to merely the God Emperor. He has had a stupendous run so far, but much of that was on pure balls. In the GOP, that made him the one and only. When fighting the dems, they're actually willing to fight. So, he needs to learn some and rise to the equation. He's got this.

I'm the tower of power, too sweet to be sour. I'm funky like a monkey. Sky's the limit and space is the place!

As somebody who dislikes both, the debate went how I thought it would. Nothing really important happened, Clinton was quite formidable and flustered Trump a few times, but Trump didn't say too many things people would consider outrageous (though I think the global warming/China thing and his talk about tax evasion will get him in trouble during the news cycle).

BrewDog, you sound like some kind of political Elliot Rodger. You're oh so smart, educated, and awesome, and it's all a conspiracy if people disagree with you and don't appreciate how amazing you are!

Dude, we don't owe you agreement, and you obviously have a chip on your shoulder. If you get banned it has nothing to do with your fucking politics and everything to do with your behavior.

I don't see anyone trying to ban iknowexactly and he's an admitted flaming liberal. Why? Because he doesn't act like a dick to other members, or try to spin some victim narrative over being called out for derailing a thread.
