The self check out lane at the Mililani and Kunia walmarts is like Christmas coming early. I probably pay for every third item.

When the guy asks for the receipt at the door, just say no and walk out.

Aloha!

Once I used the self-checkout to buy per unit donuts at the grocery store, and when the machine asked for the quantity I typed in three when I actually had four donuts in the bag. When I got out of the store my heart was pounding and I'd peed in my pants just a little bit.

You could say that it seems like an easier Target Wink

Edit: Re: Self checkouts I used to punch in the cheapest apples when I was buying Pink Ladies (the most expensive). Pink Ladies are ridiculously overpriced in supermarkets, to compare I went to a market once in a different city, wanted two and they just gave them to me. However I got caught once (I suppose it's very common and they started taking measures) and had to put them back.

Fortunately markets are in abundance in Poland, and much tastier so not only do I not have to buy pink ladies (can't even get them here), but I can support people instead of brand names.

Thanks for the snark, but i did take a look at the article and disagree with its assumptions.

We had the same goofs coming into our store that came from the Walmart the was on the other side of the road. We had 2 LP guys who worked opposite shifts from one another.

From what my LP buddy said, they had the state troopers come in about the same amount of time as wally world across the street.

This token Walmart must be in a ghetto. NAWALT (Not all walmarts are like that).

The article's assumption is that Walmart has a crime problem because it does not properly staff or provide security for their stores, not because of the clientele it attracts.

What you're saying does not address that at all, which is why I assumed you did not read the article. If you want to disagree, that's fine, but disagree with the actual argument put forth by the article -- not whatever assumptions you made through glancing at the title.

Not only that, every single one of your points is based on anecdotal fallacy. Whereas the article actually puts forth hard, objective statistics.

Walmart does not properly staff their stores. That is a well-known fact.

If you want to argue that Walmart isn't responsible to do so, great. Let's hear it.

Here is a compilation of stampede videos from walmart black Friday events over the years.

It seemed appropriate to put this in the thread. It's basically people stomping through a mob to try to get a refrigerator for 60% off. Or a 2 year old off brand tv for 50% off.

To be fair, they usually offer up some juicy sales like half off a new ipad.

Walmart does not properly staff their stores. That is a well-known fact.

If you want to argue that Walmart isn't responsible to do so, great. Let's hear it.

Come on Enigma!

You're taking an article from (((Bloomberg))), a MSM outlet which has been exposed as an establishment mouthpiece for monied liberal elites. You don't think there isn't an agenda they're trying to push here? Specifically, that WalMart attracts a white trash clientele?

The article comes off as Walmart bashing plain and simple. All of the major retailers have problems with theft and crime which is the point I was trying to make. Some are better than others simply on the basis of the locations that they serve. The Target I worked at had cops coming by every other week for various incidences. Did we rely on them? No, we just served a large area that brought different groups of people in.

I'm willing to bet that there's probably an understaffed Target or Kmart out there with the exact same problem.

I'll take my anecdotal experiences over something some two bit journalism major stuck together any day. Frankly, my experience with Trump, the 2016 February meetups, and Roosh's World Tour have me pretty much sceptical of all of the news coming out of any major news network these days.

You really can't trust any story from any major news outlet. At best, you have a rough idea of what is going on, at worst a complete fabrication.

Let's not forget some other great headlines from Bloomberg that graced this article and yet we're supposed to take this one as 100% accurate because they cited facts and figures. Which somehow make their points more valid than mine. You kidding me with that one Enigma?

Here are some other lovely articles from Bloomberg:
1. Did Donald Trump's executives violate the Cuban Embargo?
2. A Future in which Stockbrokers Turn to Mugging
3. Elizabeth Warren on Donald Trump and TPP
4. What it takes to build a Mosque in New Hampshire

Come on bud, the Trump thread is loaded with thousands examples of poorly spun facts and figures to prove liberal talking points, yet in your view the collective anecdotal experience of thousands of people don't matter over the facts given by some presstitute.

We're somewhere in between both of those two points I mentioned previously . There most likely isn't an "out of control" crime problem at WalMart stores any more than there's an out of control crime problem at JCPenny's or Kmart.

I just went to Walmart a while ago. It doesn't matter which one.
[attachment=33204]

Those are my bonus items. What you don't see is the two bags of charcoal that I also forgot to scan.

Now, my bill came out to well over $150. I got beer, Johnsonville brats, bar s (or 5) polish and smoked sausages, maybe ten packages of hotdog buns, and some other personal items.

Here is my logic (and please just support me, as I've already been told how stupid this is):

Maybe I got $25 worth of free stuff. Imdrivinga truck with a six liter v8 engine. That barely covers my gas. Now Walmart gets all kinds of tax breaks and pays the townsfolk shit, so fuck them. If I get a free delicious Boston cream pie flavored yogurt, that's thanking me for supporting them.

That is all.

Now, if any of you are in haleiwa you are welcometo come by for a bratwurst.

Aloha!

It's funny you say that but this is precisely why people who lived under Communism didn't respect public spaces and wouldn't think twice about jacking some items off the shelf or the whole toilet roll in public bathrooms.

The thought is that everything is rigged and corrupt anyways so nothing matters since the social contract was violated a long time ago.

I wouldn't be surprised if this type of thinking becomes more and more ingrained as the political corruption of the elites becomes more noticeable to the masses.

Self-Checkouts is a perfect way to stick it to Corporate America. To cheap to pay for cashiers they think robot check-outs with one person as the assistant is much cheaper but are oblivious to the fraud that likely bleeds them hundreds of dollars each day.

The irony is more folks are to stupid to figure out the self-checkout just for normal purchases I don't think many even think of how it easy it is to get deals.

I will routinely punch in roasted chickens or a whole pot roast as bulk potatoes and get a whole hunk of meat for like $8.

Almonds magically become peanuts.

Red peppers magically become bananas.

Actually lots of things become banana as they are dirt cheap.

RE: Walmart’s Out-of-Control Crime Problem Is Driving Police Crazy
The only regret I have is that picture being so big.

I've been trying to think of a good thing about Walmart. All I come up with is that subpar quality items are sold at a discount. That's all.

Maybe they give part time minimum wage jobs to people, but as sent by the self checkouts they want to do away with that.

If they make it so easy to grab free shit, why not take advantage. I'm doing exactly the same thing they are doing.

I feel I'm the one being much more honest than they are.

Aloha!

Exactly. Why is this so hard to grasp?

In fairness the average checkout operator in my area is eminently replaceable. Slow, obnoxious and ugly as sin. If even half of them had some sort of redeeming qualities then I would wholeheartedly rail against their replacement. Generally speaking I can get through the checkout faster on my own.

That said, Walmart will be looking at this in terms of a longer strategy. Currently it runs on something approaching an honesty system but as the technology gets better then they'll add cameras with shape recognition software that will flag Kona for a carpark rendezvous.

I'm not even wading into the morality debate on this one, though. There aren't enough ten foot poles in the world to string together for that shit.

I still am more shocked that Kona would drink Budweiser than I am someone would scam the scanner line. In addition none of you guys have gone grocery shopping in Hawaii, food prices there almost makes stealing mandatory behavior.
