Has anyone here with Tinder Plus applied the new settings about controlling who sees you and who you see? It allows you to only show your profile to girls you've already liked. Any changes in match frequency experienced by applying these settings?

Tinder keeps showing me the same girls I've already swiped (right or left). Anyone else experiencing this issue

can you use someone else's phone (who obviously doesn't have tinder) to get an account verified, then switch back to your phone and it work?

Fun new story about a Tinder date I went on tonight:

We agree to meet at this bar, turns out they have two locations, so she goes to the one at the beach, and I go to the one on the otherside of town. She agrees to drive to the bar I'm at because she's never been to that side of town.

She finally arrives, solid 7.5. We have some drinks, I do the venue switch, then decide that we should head back to my place for the night cap. So far, so good. I tell her to follow me, no sense in leaving her car there since its just a couple miles away. As she's driving up behind me to follow, the police flash their lights and pull her over, and am pretty sure she's being arrested and charged with a DUI as I type. Cockblocked by the Police! Angry

Rebooted Tinder after a 1 month hiatus.

Did I escalate too quickly here, and not build enough comfort? Was it a possible shit test? We matched last year but we unmatched after 1 message so I can't quite buy how "she's not that type of girl".

As you can see, we have 4 mutual friends and we went to the same university — I wonder if she looked me up on Facebook and nixed me not liking something. I did likewise and found she went to my school's sister school — small world.

Again, I get that it is hamster city in the "I don't know you" (umm, bitch, you swipe on pictures so that you can meet someone for real, what gives you the idea that a canned line will make the person a guaranteed cool guy in person), but "we might be after different things?"

Sounds like she just wanted attention, and you exposed it early.

Thing is, you can never tell. Sometimes they give you the number, then never meet anyway.

More and more, it's ringing true that these shitty apps are supplemental. I think maybe you'll get random lucky a handful of times a year when a girl actually wants to meet (and at least would eventually bang).

Sexualizing never seems to be a good idea, but it tears at you knowing that the girl is essentially a 5, and besides a quick hookup, of course you wouldn't be around her.

For that reason, my filter is strictly 18-24. That'll lower probability, but at least it's at a more reasonable age of curiosity, fitness, and worth the wasted time. The wall for online girls is around 26, I shit you not.

Quote:She says while the correlation between the app’s use and psychological wellbeing exists equally for men and women, men who used Tinder exhibited the lowest self-esteem in the study.

One reason for this could be the ratio of user’s gender on it: there’re twice as many men as women, according to the study.

“Men, knowing that there are more of them on the app, try to increase their odds of matching with someone by swiping right with higher frequency,” Strubel said.

“The increases odds of being rejected by potential connections may put men into a vulnerable position, which could then affect their self-concept,” she said.

It is something the manosphere knew already and this is why app use should never be your primary means of looking for women. It will depress you sooner or later after being ignored and ghosted by women who would have been totally into you had you met in real life. It is also depressing when matches end up becoming 8 years older in average owing to the gender ratio and the relative lack of attention older women get.

If you are a 7 in real life, you're a 5 online with the opposite happening to women: a female 5 becomes and feels like a 7 but seeks an 8 or 9 owing to the hypergamic surcharge. It is why online game will never be effective.

Remember the OKCupid data which found that 80% of men online are considered below average. Conversely, searching for women who are 'Hot' (i.e. 5/5) will show very few actual 8+ women in the search results.

Her next study on narcissism which is probably a female trait online will be interesting.

Is Tinder swarming with bots these days or is it just my area?

Have seriously matched with like 12 bots in the last 24 hours.
Don's D · 2016-08-08 22:31:00 · #5439
^^^ same thing in my area, nothing but robots, since Friday I've matched with at least 15. After the 5th bot I started tweaking the age, search area, but still same results.

I have no problem with this.

While some guys might argue you could have done more to build comfort, I would ask--why? She is a barely attractive sloot on a hook up app with a picture of herself in a slutty costume pouring rows of drinks. Any halfway reasonable human being could only expect so much courtship in that situation. And its not like you were saying, "Come over tonight," you were asking for her number so you can get to know her better.

To me it seems like you called her out as to whether she was serious about moving forward towards meeting, and she ejected. I think if you would have kept the conversation going for a long time, she would have enjoyed it, but I don't see any guarantee you would have gotten the number/bang anyway. I also noticed she didn't ask you any questions. When a woman is really interested in you, she will ask about you, even if just to keep the convo going.

Remember that a lot of girls are just on these apps for attention/to kill time. I've found that your approach (testing them early to see if they're serious or not) weeds out the attention whores from the serious ones, especially if they're not showing you good signs (like, if they aren't asking questions about you).

Thanks Sumanguru, that clears up the doubts that I had regarding whether and what I fucked up on. If I was looking at it from a meta-logical perspective, I'd have wondered HTF she could've come to that conclusion (my caption explicitly implies that I'm not after a relationship; not necessarily a self-cockblock by itself).

The attention whore factor is another frustrating element, but you're right in that my approach helps filter them out. Would even they be more DTF were I to be much more attractive. Hard to say. It can't help to improve my Tinder banter though.

What are ideas for responses when girls open you along the lines of:
- "Hey, how's things?"
- "How are you?"
- "How's it going?"

I had a match open me last night with: "Hey JWLZG, what's happening?".

To which I responded "You and I, [insert name]. We're both happening."

Radio silence since then. Did that not cut mustard? I figured it would stick out from the bog standard "Not much, just knocked off and am catching up with the guys for drinks."

I double checked and realised I'd made a typo: "You're and I". That can't have ruined me?
corsega · 2016-08-09 21:08:00 · #5443
I always respond back with another question. It makes them more likely to respond because they don't want to leave a question hanging.

In any case, if a girl opens you it means she's really attracted to you and you can go ahead and be super direct with them.

Anyone else having a problem using tools for tinder at the moment? I'm trying to log in but it just says 'You are not logged in. You are not logged in. Please try again.'
I cant use the app currently, I tried deleting it and re-downloading, no updates available. Any ideas?

Yeah, recently getting this on my end as well.

Tried another tinder-tool type app, with the same type of error - issues logging in.

Haven't played with it since then.

Are you iOS by any chance?

Cheers.

I'm using an iphone, never had any problem with it before in 2 years use or so. Anyone know any alternative? Tinder+ is just useless without the auto liker + gps spoofing.

Wow tinder looks deserted in this us city.

What are people using these days? I would like to get into the <21yo demo you can't find in bars.

Also bitches on tinder saying they are a "lvl 9 Pokemon trainer". The P go thread was onto something...

I went on two tinder dates. They were not anywhere as attractive as their pictures.

One got to the stage where I had her clothes off. Saw the bulges for the first time and made an excuse to leave. I could not go through with it.

It is like POF out there now.
corsega · 2016-08-11 00:21:00 · #5449
If you are getting girls who don't look like their photos, you are not screening correctly. It's easy to find girls on Facebook/LinkedIn/Instagram from a bit of deduction.

Good screening is important - if you think "I should probably check up on this one" then you already know in your heart that she's too fat.
