A "top story" on ESPN.com right now is that a US woman "made history" by becoming the first US athlete to wear a hijab in competition. She's a fencer who had it on under her mask.

I saw her elimination match. Gotta be honest, I was rooting for France. Also she was kind of a bitch, complaining all the time about the ref's calls. Not very classy.

I think it's only a handful of islamic countries run by the mullahs like Iran and Saudi A. that go burkini. Yesterday, Malaysia which is muslim had a diving pair (looked Malay) in normal suits that came really close to medalling.

The UK men's diving pair scored bronze, thet were very psyched and their celebration was a bit...intense

The Japan/S. Korea Judo war is alive and well. The new rules concerning penalties for stalling (shido) have really impacted the sport. I think the matches are overall more exciting to watch, but it has put athletes who had better footwork at a disadvantage to those who have faster hands.

You can watch a lot of stuff on the NBC website, replays of full events, that's how I've been seeing the shooting stuff. You have to log in through your cable provider though.
