Fairfax Media, owner of the Sydney Morning Herald, is going through tough times: 120 employees are being laid off. The employees remaining are going on strike, which is likely to further send that company into insolvency.

At emergency stop work meetings on Thursday journalists decided to take lengthy strike action to send a message to management that cutting more editorial jobs was the wrong strategy to save the business. Journalists from the Canberra Times and Brisbane Times also joined the action.

The demographic they were appeasing didn't buy their product and there is 100 other outlets with the same regurgitated content. I doubt the Guardian has a single conservative man or woman reading their garbage, especially the likes of Lindy West. She will go soon as well.
