To be fair, most Chinese people don't care about the Holocaust. It happened in Europe, so it's understandable why European, and other western countries study it more etc. It doesn't have nearly the same significance in other places. I think in India they have several Hitler-branded stores/products.

This guy never attempted to run or hide after the war. That tells me than the reason he was never charged previously is because most courts would have laughed at the prosecutors. So they waited until now

You need to ask a prosecutor. It's not "my" logic. I was only pointing out that deterrence is often factor taken into account for prosecutions. Especially in high profile cases.

As for prosecuting people based on the standards of the day, that often happens with "war crimes". In Chile and Argentina for example, to this day, you occasionally read stories about prosecutions for murders and kidnappings from the Dirty War in the 70's.

The holocaust certainly did happen but it always bothers me how the Jewish diaspora/Israel downplays the other victims who were also gassed in favor of the "chosen ones as the biggest victims of persecution" script that seems to be repeated all the time in the past couple decades.

Even though I don't agree with a lot of the white nationalist/denial rhetoric I do think it's true that it serves as a powerful narrative tool for Israel and various zionist groups in the U.S. to guilt trip various western governments into this current human shield arrangement the U.S. has with Israel.

Hm. I believe in being a good man, personal responsibility, and property rights. An enthusiastic Nazi and SS member who robbed hundreds of thousands of old people, women, and children on their way to massacre by his fellow genocidal maniacs deserves to be tried and shamed (whether the sentence is appropriate is another matter, sounds like a lot by European standards under the circumstances). Even Eichmann cried "I was only doing my job," we all know that this is not any real excuse for a man. Also, even those of you who despise today's Jewish elites have to realize that most people killed in the Holocaust were not millionaire bankers and media moguls.

I said it somewhere before and i'll say it again:

20 million Russians > 6 million Jews.

WW2 was bad for everyone. Not just the Jews. The second I see this mentioned in the mainstream will be the day this Holocaust guilt ends.

I don't dispute that more Soviet citizens than Jews died in the Second World War. In fact, the number of Soviet ("Russians" is misleading, as only about half of those who died were ethnic Russians) dead was probably well over 20 million and the number of Jews less than 6 million (when I looked into this about ten years ago, the best estimates seemed to range from 4.5 to 5.5. million).

However, we remember the Holocaust, which included both Jews and other targeted groups, not only because about 11 million people died. We remember it because it was a systematic and deliberate campaign of murdering civilian men, women, and children on mostly ethnic grounds, executed by what had until 1933 been the greatest center of science and learning the world had ever seen. It was a grotesque and absurd policy dictated by psychopaths and yet willingly assisted by millions of people drawn from the most educated nation on earth (there were non-German participants, too, of course). It is this that makes it a particularly dark stain on the history of Europe and a disgrace to Western Civilization. To say that we should simply forget it, erase remnants of it, and trivialize it seems like barbarism to me. It is no better than the rabid IS fanatics destroying our common human heritage at Palmyra and Nineveh.

As soon as we talk about "the holocaust" as this thing that happened or not, or that "holocaust deniers" believe the holocaust did not happen, is a really hoodwinked way of looking at this issue as an "either/or" situation, which is grossly simplistic. This perspective is designed to make the presumed holocaust deniers look stupid.

Because "the holocaust" in the public mind is the deliberate extermination of millions of jews. Unfortunately, there is nothing exceptional or unique to the genocide in WW2. Virtually every major civilization of all races have practiced genocide.

The fixation on the Germans being particularly evil is very strange, and reeks of a Jewish grudge for being decimated by the Germans.

I understand that why many Jews would hold this grudge. But holding grudges aren't healthy and inevitably leads to more conflicts in the future. In this case the Jewish grudge against the Germans results in them being guilt-tripped into becoming Muslims, who will be far worse than the Nazi's were.

We are supposed to believe that the Nazi's killed all those unsuitable for work. But if you watch this video deconstructing the implausible anecdotal evidence of those who claim to have witnessed "gas chambers", you will see that the conditions in the camps were often not too bad for many in the early part of the war.





And "the holocaust" is typically used as an example of how barbaric man can be; German's being the vanquished enemy, were demonised and German national pride conveniently crushed.

As David Irving points out, there is no order from Hitler to exterminate the Jews, and there is no documentation to the effect this event ever occurred. And no plausible physical evidence which makes any sense.

In that case, I think it is perfectly reasonable to doubt the version of history we are presented with.

It is not implausible that the Germans did kill Jews en masse in gas chambers, which the Eisatzgruppen certain did through shooting, but they kept meticulous records.

That's not true. There have been historical instances of this but it's not the norm. The European holocaust and Genghis Khan's invasion of China and Europe are probably the most egregious instances of systematic civilian massacres in an organized fashion.

Most of the time large sprawling multiracial, multi ethnic and multi cultural empires try and stop their civilians from killing each other over tribalism.

Read a little about the history of India, China, and Russia to get a sense of what a long term strategies empires use to smooth out differences within their populations.
